CELTIC FLOP HEADS FOR EXIT

VASILIS BARKAS looks to be heading for the Celtic exit after a wretched debut season at Celtic.

The flop keeper hasn’t played since the 2-2 draw with Livingston in West Lothian on January 20 and was on the substitutes’ bench in the 3-0 Scottish Cup victory over Falkirk with Scott Bain again the last line of defence for the 12th successive game.

However, the misery could end for the most expensive netminder in the club’s history after his £4.5million arrival from AEK Athens in the summer.

PAOK, who are sitting third in the Greek Super League, are reported to have made a firm enquiry for the 26-year-old who has also lost his place in his national squad after his awful displays for the Glsgow giants where he has struggled to convince since he made his debut in the 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock at Rugby Park in the second league game of the campaign on August 9.

They are lining up a move for Barkas who is also apparently interesting clubs in Holland and Belgium, according to the Daily Record.

Incredibly, the last line of defence has conceded 21 goals from only 49 attempts on goal which means nearly even second effort on target results in a goal. It’s a damning statistic.

Celtic cannot hope to recoup anything like the financial outlay to bring the keeper to Glasgow, but it is clear he will not see out the remaining three years of a lucrative contract.
