Is that the time?  Many thanks to everyone who submitted questions for the Club to answer at the Forum this evening.  CQN submitted six pages of questions along with many other groups, from which an agenda has been prepared (below):

Stadium Atmosphere and Matchday Policy:

What is the current position in respect of the Green Brigade?

Do the Club believe their response to Motherwell was justified and proportionate?

Stewarding at home matches is heavy handed in certain sections of the Stadium e.g. Block 122 and Blocks 110, 111 & 112, is there a reason for this?

The presence of FoCUS at home matches is intimidating and antagonises supporters, is it necessary to have them and if so can they be located in an area which is less intrusive?

Can the Club introduce a code of conduct which all Stewards need to sign up to?

Attending matches is expensive, what are the Club’s plans on ticket pricing?

Safe Standing has been regularly discussed, what is the current position?

The Coach Park has been relocated to an area which is unsuitable for the majority of fans who use it, what is the longer term plan?

The Kerrydale Bar has been a welcome addition to matchday are there plans for another?

What are the Club’s thoughts on the current location of the Family Section?

Stadium Catering has long since been considered over-priced and sub-standard, what is the current position in terms of offering an improved service?

Many fans feel their support is taken for granted, would the Club consider adding value by recognising long-term support for 5, 10, 15 years’ Season Ticket purchase by offering upgrades to Premium or Corporate for a day?

With so many empty seats on match day at present can the Club not allocate these to good causes, school and youth groups and community projects?

PR & Communication:

There is a perception that the Club are quick to criticise our fans but slow to praise them, what’s the Club’s view?

Why is the Club not more vocal when our Manager, Players and Fans are attacked in the media?

The Club is seen to be slow to react to key issues through the media, why is this?

The Club has stated its opposition to the OBTC Act but there is a sense that it has to do more in support of the fans who are affected by this, will the Club take a more vocal position?

Is this meeting a recognition from the Club that a gap exists between the Club and the fans?

The Club are often considered to be on the back foot in terms of PR, is there recognition of this from within and is there a plan to drive the PR strategy by producing more positive stories?

Would the Club consider the introduction of a weekly phone-in show to combat existing shows which often provide misinformation or unrealistic comparisons from unqualified sources?

Supporter Specific Issues:

Given the level of demand which exists, would the Club consider adding to to the excellent new disabled supporters’ facility or creating something similar in another part of the stadium?

Fixture re-scheduling at short notice is costing supporters money and ultimately driving fans away, can the Club seek an agreement with all other Clubs that a minimum notice period is put in place?

Would the Club consider a floating credits scheme for fans outside Scotland to mitigate losses when matches are rescheduled?

Murrayfield – what is the plan relative to transportation and kick-off times, also Edinburgh cannot be accessed in a 24-hr trip by Irish supporters, can this be reflected in their Season Ticket offering?

At present away, neutral and European match ticket allocations are based on attendance of matches at each of the defined categories.  Would the Club consider a scheme where all matches are taken into account including attendance at home matches as this would encourage more fans to attend home games?

For European match ticket allocation there is no stated policy at present, this leads to confusion as fans don’t always know when they will receive an offer or if it’s first come first served, this needs to be made clear by way of a stated policy which allows for clarity and gives supporters a defined process.

If players want to stay they will. When a bid comes in that the club accept it is because the player has not indicated they want to stay or the money on offer is ridiculous like the cash we were offered for Victor. If Hooper and ledley wanted to stay they would have. I am not convinced they were ever staying. Signing a new contract on the same money is not always a negative. Stan signed a new deal and got his move and the club got a very good fee. I believe all the players that left us in the last year were badly advised. One more crack at the CL would have put their stock higher. Kelvin Wilson was the only one who didn’t need advice. His mind was made up he wanted to get home. Can’t blame the lad for that. Nobody will ever convince me any of the others wanted to stay.

  4. 16 roads,

Wanting Celtic to enter the EPL is a little like wanting to be with a beautiful, successful women who also just happens to have as much intellectual depth as a paddling pool. It would be great fun for a few months with Erina but the novelty would soon wear off. One might quickly hanker for the good old days with Tracey, despite her many lumps and bumps: in other words despite hun referees.

We may not convince you but I think we could have convinced them;)

On the plus side, the evidence is mounting up that leaving us is not a very good idea, career wise, despite what their agents tell them.

Google suggests those turbines are 30 high.

That’s less than a fifth of the height of the turbines being erected on the mainland.

And when the referendum’s over, and the SNP have ripped themselves apart, the turbines will still be there ruining the landscape and we’ll still be paying for them for a generation.

    What a legacy.

    Thanks

I’ve been biting the ears of Celtic folk at various levels on this issue for about 3 years after

I wrote this article from August 2010

    http://celticunderground.net/after-the-ball/

as a result of which I was able to hand PL that dialogue stuff.

    The timing is a coincidence.

It flows from the appointment of JPT and one of the reasons it has taken him until now to get it off the ground has been handling all the issues that he has had to deal with since his appointment.

This is an attempt to try and put Celtic on the front rather than back foot when dealing with issues and so reduce dissatisfaction amongst the support.

Before I retired finally (well paid work anyway) one of my job titles included the word Capacity Builder, between that and my earlier experiences in government and IT I have approached many of the issues not at a personal level but at a systems and capacity building level.

Get the capacity and systems to support them in place and real change for the better can happen.

It just seemed a shame to me to take all that experience to the grave and not share it with a community that I have a lot of affection for.

    1. I think you’re supposed to pay Rupert to watch his telly.

    2. If people refused to pay Rupert, some semblance of economic reality might return and you wouldn’t have to pay £130 to watch the Arse.

    What a legacy

Yes those people who have been suffering with flooded homes in England and the huge cost of dealing with the environmental consequences is some legacy indeed

  13. Where are the questions about what is the Clubs strategy over the next five and ten years?

What are they doing to move to another league or competition that would ensure greater TV money to help us retain and recruit top players?

Will the Club never seek to tie up or revenue and sponsorship deals with any form of Rangers?

  14. lionroars67

The flooding has been caused by higher than average rainfall.

The higher than average rainfall has been caused by a shift in the jet stream.

Not one scientist has suggested that MMCC has any effect on the jet stream.

    Plenty of politicians have though.

And the notion that the use of wind turbines reduces carbon emissions is, at best, questionable.

Subsidies are good though. Up to £50k per turbine per annum for the landowner. All paid for by a regressive tax. Braw.

  15. Ernie Lynch,

The solution to this problem is simple. Let’s use your hot air instead. Plenty to go around.

Gigha’s very flat, so it’s all relative.

Like Mr Salmond himself the turbines will be temporary. To be used until something better comes along.

  17. weeminger

Turbines are supposed to have a working life of 25 years.

    That’s a generation.

All for no reason other than to generate subsidies.

    Utter madness.

Season tickets and retirement age – post 60!

I had a ST for 25 years (+ my daughter for 18 years from when she was a student). At 60 work circumstances meant semi-retirement and an income drop of 60%.

Even so, I continued to pay full price for a ST up to the age of 65 until last season. Unfortunately, my 65th birthday fell after the season started when I reached full retirement – no concession.

Now you may ask (when last year’s ST sales drive was in full swing) why someone from the Ticket Office didn’t contact me? After all I had been a longtime ‘customer’ and they had my details.

Sadly the ‘Customer Care’ element didn’t get any better. I am fortunate that friends often see me OK when I can go and need a ticket. I went to the T/O to collect (and pay for) 2 x CL packages this year – I mentioned that I had not renewed and explained the circumstances.

Most helpful (let’s call them management) were sorry to hear I had not renewed. Would I consider a ‘concession’ package for the remainder of the season?

Yes said I and gave them my business card with contact details – still waiting on them getting back to me!

For midweek games it’s breakneck for them to get back to Cairnryan for the last ferry.

    Edinburgh would make it impossible.

  24. Is there a realistic alternative to Murrayfield? Given that our smallest support would be too big for any other stadium in Scotland.
