Is that the time?  Many thanks to everyone who submitted questions for the Club to answer at the Forum this evening.  CQN submitted six pages of questions along with many other groups, from which an agenda has been prepared (below):

Stadium Atmosphere and Matchday Policy:

What is the current position in respect of the Green Brigade?

Do the Club believe their response to Motherwell was justified and proportionate?

Stewarding at home matches is heavy handed in certain sections of the Stadium e.g. Block 122 and Blocks 110, 111 & 112, is there a reason for this?

The presence of FoCUS at home matches is intimidating and antagonises supporters, is it necessary to have them and if so can they be located in an area which is less intrusive?

Can the Club introduce a code of conduct which all Stewards need to sign up to?

Attending matches is expensive, what are the Club’s plans on ticket pricing?

Safe Standing has been regularly discussed, what is the current position?

The Coach Park has been relocated to an area which is unsuitable for the majority of fans who use it, what is the longer term plan?

The Kerrydale Bar has been a welcome addition to matchday are there plans for another?

What are the Club’s thoughts on the current location of the Family Section?

Stadium Catering has long since been considered over-priced and sub-standard, what is the current position in terms of offering an improved service?

Many fans feel their support is taken for granted, would the Club consider adding value by recognising long-term support for 5, 10, 15 years’ Season Ticket purchase by offering upgrades to Premium or Corporate for a day?

With so many empty seats on match day at present can the Club not allocate these to good causes, school and youth groups and community projects?

PR & Communication:

There is a perception that the Club are quick to criticise our fans but slow to praise them, what’s the Club’s view?

Why is the Club not more vocal when our Manager, Players and Fans are attacked in the media?

The Club is seen to be slow to react to key issues through the media, why is this?

The Club has stated its opposition to the OBTC Act but there is a sense that it has to do more in support of the fans who are affected by this, will the Club take a more vocal position?

Is this meeting a recognition from the Club that a gap exists between the Club and the fans?

The Club are often considered to be on the back foot in terms of PR, is there recognition of this from within and is there a plan to drive the PR strategy by producing more positive stories?

Would the Club consider the introduction of a weekly phone-in show to combat existing shows which often provide misinformation or unrealistic comparisons from unqualified sources?

Supporter Specific Issues:

Given the level of demand which exists, would the Club consider adding to to the excellent new disabled supporters’ facility or creating something similar in another part of the stadium?

Fixture re-scheduling at short notice is costing supporters money and ultimately driving fans away, can the Club seek an agreement with all other Clubs that a minimum notice period is put in place?

Would the Club consider a floating credits scheme for fans outside Scotland to mitigate losses when matches are rescheduled?

Murrayfield – what is the plan relative to transportation and kick-off times, also Edinburgh cannot be accessed in a 24-hr trip by Irish supporters, can this be reflected in their Season Ticket offering?

At present away, neutral and European match ticket allocations are based on attendance of matches at each of the defined categories.  Would the Club consider a scheme where all matches are taken into account including attendance at home matches as this would encourage more fans to attend home games?

For European match ticket allocation there is no stated policy at present, this leads to confusion as fans don’t always know when they will receive an offer or if it’s first come first served, this needs to be made clear by way of a stated policy which allows for clarity and gives supporters a defined process.

    Ernie,

The second line of your post was a little like an oxymoron but I get the point. Unfortunately I am not sure when but I would guess mid 70s. It is a pity that you could not speak to this man. However his experience is not unique. Google the testimony of other dissidents.

  6. Disappointed to note that next Tuesday’s Aberdeen v Celtic game isn’t on live TV. But I see that BBC Alba are showing the full game from 10.00pm.

Apologies for butting in, but figures released in December 2013 show the SNP have failed their own education tests and criteria for nursery education.

This was after abandoning a pledge about class sizes in 2009.

The recession etc are partially to blame, however the fact remains that much heralded promises have been broken.

You are right The Shamrock came from the Garngad which was later known as Roystonhill/Royston the area supported a large immigrant Irish population who flocked to the area to work In the nearby St Rollox Chemical works which was situated roughly in the same area where the sighthill flats now sit. A legacy of the chemical works can still be smelled today when the trains exit from the queen street tunnel and you sniff the hydrogen sulfide wich was buried to a great depth in the area many years ago

  10. Jobo.. CL games on so local broadcasters aren’t allowed to screen games from domestic leagues at the same time

  11. Invercelt,

Oxfam is becoming way too political. The poverty industry is too big. They prey on the generous. Sign up to one of their schemes and then stop your direct debit. They will then proceed to bombard you with phonecalls which are quite aggressive. A lot of these charities pay obscene amounts of money to middle class Amelias and Bretts who get a nice job thanks to donations from generous people – donations which kind people expect to go to starving people. Cull the poverty industry. They are too political and too predatory.

Who was in when teachers refused to do xtra curric ?

    Thatcher.

How come the EIS has recommended teachers accept a miserly 1% rise (after suffering the equivalent of a 15% reduction in wages, in real terms, over the last three years) and a diminution of conditions?

Because their leadership has done a sneaky deal with Salmon and his lackeys so as not to have a teachers’ strike during election year. Shocking!

    Valentines day

My daughter is a nursery teacher and I can assure you that the SNP are doing great by providing nursery places for our weans with the best of standards which compares favourably with any other country in Europe.

Of course this does not fit in with your prejudices on the SNP

    ——————————————————————————————————————-

First of all, the only prejudices I have with the SNP is they are a bunch

of nanny state intellectual? elitist,dickheads…..second of all,I don’t vote,

not going to play their game anymore……the real power brokers will always

be in charge…..until we truly REBEL.

  14. Ernie,

I must have forgotten my medication lately, but for a change you seem to have uttered a fair amount of sense.

If I understand you, you’re against independence for Scotland: obviously we don’t deserve what Ireland has. I, in contrast, have been a nationalist for over 55 years. I won’t vote No in the Referendum, but I share some of your fears. I don’t just mean about wind turbines (tho’ I agree with you there) nor even about the blustering of Alex & his sidekick Nicola. They relate more to to the nanny-state tendency of the SNP government, shown yet again today in the proposal to have a named adult to take responsibility for each child until adulthood (haven’t they heard of parents? Alex & Nicola are both childless, but surely at least some SNP MSPs have reproduced).

I have a more fundamental fear, tho’: the SNP or at least those in charge cannot be trusted as the party is not run according to its own rules – & if anyone doubts me, I can back up what I say. Salmond, Sturgeon & others bluster about “fairness”, but their party is run unfairly & treats its members unfairly, at least unless they belong to the magic circle. The leaders of the SNP have betrayed the trust of many sincere nationalists & they continue to do so. Therefore, while I remain a supporter of Scottish independence, a No vote in September would not IMO be a disaster – & if it resulted in a cleansing of the SNP’s stables leading to a true nationalist movement, it would be welcome.

I think you mean tautology, not oxymoron, but no matter.

I’m surprised such trips were still being organised by the 1970s.

    Tankies, what are they like?

There was a point just before I came back from London in 2003 when a top charity street seller working for a big charity like Oxfam could be making high 20s or even 30k, and for people wanting to have a career in sales it was seen as a fast track to a great job.

After all if you can sell on the street you can sell anywhere. It’s scaled back now, but it’s still a relatively well paid sales job.
