CELTIC’S Premiership fixture against Dundee at Parkhead tomorrow is in jeopardy due to the severe storm conditions.

The champions’ stadium has suffered in the gale-force winds which has led to concerns ahead of the 3pm kick-off against the Dens Park outfit.

The club have warned supporters it will be tomorrow morning before they will be in a position to give definitive progress reports.

Celtic issued a statement to alert the fans of the current situation.

It read: “Unfortunately, today’s severe weather conditions have caused some damage at Celtic Park.

“Our stadium and safety staff are currently unable to fully assess the extent of the damage due to the ongoing extreme conditions.

DUNDEE DESPAIR…Brendan Rodgers looks grim as he applauds the Celtic fans after the champions’ last-gasp 3-3 draw at Dens Park.

“In light of this and in order that we communicate fully and openly with our fans, in the interests of supporter safety, we are unable to confirm at this stage whether the match tomorrow between Celtic and Dundee (Jan 25) will be able to proceed.

“Of course, we will be doing all we can to ensure that it does.

“A full assessment and decision will be made as early as possible tomorrow morning (Saturday) and we will update our supporters as soon as we can.

“We thank our supporters sincerely for their understanding.”

Brendan Rodgers’ side took on the Tayside club earlier this month in a rousing, seesawing 3-3 draw at Dens Park.

The visitors twice led before relying on a stoppage-time penalty-kick from Arne Engels to rescue a point.

RESCUE ACT…Arne Engels scores the stoppage-time penalty-kick that gave Celtic a point on Tayside.

Luke McCowan had given the champions the perfect start with an early header to open the scoring against his former club, but that was wiped out just before the interval.

South Korean winger Yang Hyun-jun gave the Hoops the advantage again with another header, but once more Tony Docherty’s men battled back to level and then go ahead with a goal from Aaron Donnelly.

When it looked as though Rodgers’ men would suffer their second league loss of the season, they were awarded a penalty-kick after a Nicolas Kuhn shot was handled and the £11million Belgian midfielder tucked the point-saver behind Trevor Carson.

Engels also scored from the spot to add to Alistair Johnston’s breakthrough strike in Celtic’s 2-0 win in Glasgow in October.
