CELTIC GAME SWITCH

CELTIC’S Premiership game against Hearts which was due at Parkhead a week on Saturday has now been put back 24 hours until August 25.

Neil Lennon’s side’s sensational Champions League exit against Cluj is the reason for the switch with the Hoops now due to play a Europa League play-off tie a week tomorrow.

Scotland’s title kings were on course for a play-off with Slavia Prague – with the first game pencilled in for Tuesday – for a place in Europe’s elite competition, but the Romanians won 4-3 in Glasgow following the 1-1 first leg result.

Celtic will now play their Europa qualifier and face a trip to Sweden to take on AIK or a journey to Moldova to face Sheriff Tiraspol as they bid to reach the tournament’s sections.

The Scandinavians lead 2-1 following the first leg of that tie away from home and are expected to progress to set up an encounter with the Hoops.

However, after last night’s shocker in the east end of Glasgow, nothing can be taken for granted.
