CELTIC GET A 10,000 EUROS UEFA FINE FOR PARKHEAD PITCH INVADER INCIDENT

CELTIC this morning have been notified that they have been fined for the incident at the opening Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain when a supporter entered the field of play.

UEFA have issued a 10,000 Euros fine for the Field Invasion under Article 16 (2) of their Disciplinary Regulations.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been fined 5000 Euros for Acts of damage, relating to broken seats in the away end as their fans celebrated their 5-0 win.

It is not known whether PSG will ask UEFA for time to pay up the fine!

Celtic will feel somewhat relieved that the punishment is not more, with many commentators expressing a view that UEFA might look at a closure of a stand as a consequence of a sequence of incidents that have resulted in fines.

Celtic last week took 10,000 supporters to Munich and came back with no arrests, no trouble and no charges from UEFA!
