CELTIC GET HOGH WARNING

CELTIC will have to dig deep if they pursue their interest in Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Hogh.

The Hoops have revived their interest in the Danish hitman after being quoted a figure of £7million in the January transfer window.

However, any possible move for Hogh stalled as the club advanced in the Champions League and it became a case of all deals off.

Martin O’Neill has made just one cash purchase so far this summer with Colombian forward Camilo Duran arriving in a £5.5million switch from Qarabag and making a good first impression with goals in the friendlies against Sporting Lisbon in Portugal and Middlesbrough at Parkhead.

YELLOW PERIL…Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Hogh’s value is rising.

But with the talismanic Daizen Maeda heading to Ipswich Town in a £10million deal, it’s clear Scotland’s title kings, preparing for an assault on their sixth successive crown, require more firepower.

Hogh is high on O’Neill’s wishlist, but Celtic will have to go higher than the fee quoted at the turn of the year for the 25-year-old attack-leader.

A report in Radio Sporten insisted the Norwegian club are in no rush to part with the popular player and more cash will be required to persuade them to release Hogh. The media outlet stated it could prove to be “more than Celtic are willing to pay.”

The 6ft-plus marksman, who has scored 36 goals in 63 league games since joining as a free agent in 2024, made his Danish international debut in March this year and has collected three more caps since his breakthrough.

Hogh remained on the substitutes’ bench in his club’s 3-0 league win over HamKam last night with his stand-in, Andreas Helmersen, netting a double.
