Celtic get the ball rolling with Griffiths

318

So Leigh Griffiths is set to be a Celtic player today.  I bet we could all guess a few topics covered at induction.  He is in because he scored 23 SPL goals for Hibs last season, more than anyone at Celtic achieved, and is currently Wolves top scorer with 12 goals.

Despite appearing to predictably win games 4-0 recently our problems in attack are evident.  Anthony Stokes is our top striker but has scored less than half Kris Commons’ total, while defender Virgil van Dijk matches or better the rest of the strikers tally.

Leigh is the second striker we’ve brought in this month but at 6’2” Holmbert Fridjonsson is a completely different proposition.

More later on this and others, I’m sure.

I really do like Pukki as a football player, I used to think Gerd Mulluer couldn’t kick his arse outside the box but look at him, I think Pukki is twice the player but a tenth of the goalscorer (don’t hold me to that fraction, it is only posted for emphasis before some pendant (sic) comes on giving me grief)

But you are right, and every thinking supporter knows you are right too, football, as spectators or supporters, is opinion, and joy, and glee, and angst, and I’m no going to work tomorrow, and I’m never going back and on and on and on, but at heart it is passion, pure, unadulterated, passion.

Passion and a marriage that, although tested at times, never never knows the meaning of divorce.

We all share that passion. We are all bonded to our passion… forever. Until our passion is bastardised.

  5. FFin’ dope fiends get their tusks into issues re the identity of RTC, higher education, Freedom of Information and………..the schools:

“It’s often been said on here that the people behind the RTC blog were academics at Strathclyde.”

    ——

“Academia has a to to answer for…it is infested with leftie, so called ‘libertines’ and free thinkers with a passionate hatred of the UK establishment ;Britain’s Empire and its ‘exploitation’ of the ‘poor and oppressed’,never mind its significant and lasting contribution to civilisation and infrastructure and the rule of law; their antagonism towards the Monarchy, the established Church,Presbyterianism, right wing politics, the Reformation, indeed anyone seen as patriotic or right of centre whether they be British or American; their love affairwith Che and Castro….I could go on and on.”

    ——

“Basically a cabal of pseudo intellectual lecturers have come together to harm rangers.

I would also bet on a figure head of sorts that acted as the bridge between left of centre luvvies and the group. Remember we were told “I can’t come on radio as my voice would be known”.

The above is opinion and not fact but strathclyde Uni staff seem involved no matter how you dress it up.”

    ——

“Another member of Strathclyde Uni outed as a Republican bigot, what the f**k is going on at that university? it needs closed down imo.”

    ——

“The common thread that runs through the entire network of West of Scotland based Rangers haters is that they’re overwhelmingly paid by the public purse. Be it semi-educated ” academics “, GCC, BBC Scotland…..the list goes on. The public-sector is crammed with these vile creatures.”

    ——

“This blog roughly joins all the various dots and if you stand back it reveals a very disturbing picture.

It is of course wise to stand back, because if you get too close you will be overwhelmed by the stench of nauseating corruption exhibited by your new elite.

Whilst you have stood back and in many cases slept, your land has been taken from under you.

Control of the State especially in the West of Scotland and its many layered levers of financial largesse funded by the taxpayer, the Scottish press and media and even Academia have all fallen into the arms of a community that live to hate you.

They have their snouts well and truly in the public trough and like the Soviets at their most rotten they can steal at will from you the tax payer and no one will say a dicky bird about it because the press are just another limb of corruption.

Further there is no intellectual dissention, because the young are indoctrinated at our seats of learning by the same mindset.

Is it any surprise that as well as enriching themselves they shore up their power and grind you under their dismissive heel by favouring their favourite football club with State Aid, whilst undermining your football club as they undermine your very will to resist and stamp upon any social pride you ever had in your identity.

It is game and set and match.”

    ——

“That’s one of the best posts I’ve ever read on here.

    Take a bow mate.”

    ——

    “What a horrifically accurate post”

    ——

“Very good summation of our current situation, I agree with most of this but and its a very big but, we are a sleeping giant, our country will only take so much of they’re flagrant corruption, dictatorship and misappropriation of our finances and history will repeat itself.

Like every other fare minded Scottish/British citizen when they’re corruption is fully revealed and we can take no more, we will say enough of this p*sh and there will be civil unrest of a scale we’ve never experienced before.”

    ——

“I happened to be passing by St Ninians in Kirkintilloch tonight. I noticed Celtic youths training on the school pitches. They were all wearing Celtic training tops. They were being coached by people wearing Celtic training tops.

Are Celtic paying the Council, for the use of the state funded school facilities?

We’ve spent millions on a football complex just along the road. Are Celtic laughing up their sleeves again? Is this another case of the public purse helping Celtic?”

    ——

“That is why the Freedom Of Information Act was introduced.

A simple FOI request to the Council or Education Authority responsible for St Ninians, should give you the required info, including exactly how much they pay and how much it costs the council to have staff on site etc.”

    ——

“Almost every RC school in Glasgow has buses that pick up kids to take them to school. They do this as they know that if transport wasn’t laid on the kids would be just as likely to go to their nearest school.

Not one single non-denominational school in Glasgow lays on buses for their pupils.

The question is…. how much does it cost Glasgow taxpayers to pay for these buses to bolster the numbers that attend the bigot factories that are RC schools? A FOI request to this respect would be very interesting.”

    ——

“THE angry mother of a teenage schoolboy last night hit out at a local authority’s decision to remove his free bus pass because he is not a Roman Catholic.

this kind of thing happens all over this country, so you can take it that us tax payers are paying for it.”

    ——

“Apartheid schools are killing this country.”

    ——

“Would be interesting to ask the question about how much is spent by the council on taxi fares from St Ninians to and from Lennoxtown.”

  6. with the recent announcement of improved facilities in the actual seating areas and lounges for less able supporters would this not be an opportunity to see an end to the draconian dress codes in place just to be in a football ground bar. A number of people using these new facilities will wear certain clothes not by choice rather necessity and I’m sure will contrevene the shoes troosers and whatever else ‘laws’ laid down by the club and rigorously enforced by the chirpy stewards.

  7. How did that idiot on FF just happen to drive buy St Ninians.

That is my old school and it is not on a main road. You have to go through get a posh neighbourhood. Dont think any of them would be going near there

I remember walking into the long-since defunct Bankies Club & becoming aware of one of the regulars sitting looking very doleful.

    ‘What’s up, Tony ?’

‘ Na, nothing…. Things couldnae be any better.’

‘ Why the long face then ?’

‘ Ach, ye kin get fed-up enjoying yersel’.’

Over the years since I have often laughed to myself at Tony’s pessimistic outlook.

Recently, reading CQN every day, I realise that his lugubrious attitude is far more common than I had thought possible.

A lot of Celtic supporters have become fed-up enjoying themselves.

What a strange world we live in.

Strathclyde Uni dominated by Tims, surely a mistake? next you will be telling me that the Dean of The University (a professor no less with a knighthood) is a Celtic Season Ticket holder and a passionate Celtic fan, get a grip! as if something as ridiculous as that could be true………….

  13. If we keep buying projects, with the hope of winning the lottery, and then replacing our projects with more projects, is there a point in time when we will start to regress, after all, if we don’t have some battled hardened pro’s, who are the projects going to learn from?

  18. Our biggest worry is the qualifiers. The teams we will face aint gonna be world beaters.LG will do very well in these games. Why all the negativity?.The CL is different. If we spend £50 million on 3 top stars we maybe should be expecting to qualify. We cant.We will go in against multi million teams and do our very best.We have done it before.I think next season we will see a far superior team.Another year under their belt playing together and winning regularly. It breeds confidence. We have not even seen Fridjohnsen yet.Far too much negativity.
