CELTIC are sitting in 15th place in the Champions League following the excellent 3-1 triumph over RB Leipzig on matchday four at Parkhead.
The victory saw them pick up their seventh point as well as a cash bonus of £1.75million in UEFA prize money following their scintillating performance against the Bundesliga giants with Nicolas Kuhn firing in a double and Reo Hatate adding another.
Brendan Rodgers’ men have picked up maximum points from their two home games with a 5-1 opener against the Slovaks of Slovan Bratislava in September.
The two games on their travels have had contrasting fortunes – a 7-1 loss in Dortmund against Borussia and a goalless draw in Bergamo against Europa League winners Atalanta.
The second triumph in Europe’s elite competition propelled the Hoops onto seven points with a goal difference of zero with nine goals scored and the same amount conceded.
They are a point ahead of holders Real Madrid and also the likes of Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Benfica and Clubb Brugge, who beat Aston Villa 1-0 last night.
Celtic meet the Belgians on November 27 in Glasgow and wrap up the qualifing section with a trip to the Midlands to take on John McGinn and Co on January 29 next year.
In between those encounters, Rodgers’ side will play Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia on December 10 and Switzerland’s Young Boys at Parkhead on January 22.
Opta stats indicate that 10 points should be enough to see teams through to the last 16 play-off stage.
