Celtic have a score to settle

280

Celtic players will feel aggrieved at what happened when we last met Hibernian at Celtic Park in February.  With the game tied at 1-1 and Celtic pressing for the winner, VAR controversially recommended a red card to Auston Trusty.  Celtic continued to press but Hibs hit them on the counter and took all three points.  There is a score to settle.

To some, our campaign looked in tatters that night.  The following seven fixtures included six away from home; league, cup and European campaigns were on the line.  One horrendous performance at Tannadice apart, Celtic prevailed across that impossible-looking run and the campaign in their own hands.

We have to make the most of Hibs weakness.  Right back Passlack, who scored at Celtic Park in February, is suspended, as is goalkeeper Sallinger.  Test them down our left, cross low into the heart of the box and let’s give the sub keeper a busy day.

Six different Celtic players scored across out last two games.  You feel the squad needed to break the seal to get goals flowing again.  I’m less concerned about our front line than I was a month ago.  The key aspect on Sunday is to maintain intensity in the middle of the park.  Hibs tend to flood the middle, which will make this more difficult.  Going long and going early might be a good option.

  1. “The key aspect tomorrow is to maintain intensity in the middle of the park.”

Let’s not use all the intensity tomorrow P67, let’s keep it for Sunday.

    Stop treating people like idiots…

Several times I’ve put perfectly reasonable questions to you – everytime you’ve failed to answer.

Now, please, don’t misdirect – answer the anomilies I put to you.

While your at it, give us the proof you promised, that Brendan Rodgers was fraudulent.

Would actually prefer Steve Clark, think if we had him from start of the season we would have pissed it by now..

  5. The vacated role of Greg Taylr..the inverted full back, has left us looking light in midfield throughout the season. Instead greater emphasis on the CHs to break the lines, a role Scales consistently struggles with.

The midfield for me is key. Nygren, bizarrely , shouldn’t be an automatic starter .

  7. The Battered Bunnet on

Have we forgotten that in the aftermath of Trusty being (correctly) sent off, we were (incorrectly) denied a penalty kick?

The foul on Scales met all of the requirements for a penalty in those circumstances, as discussed at length by Willie Collum on the VAR show.

It was 1-1 with 15 minutes to play.

    Hibs went on to win.

The consequence of the decision not to award a penalty is a probable point, perhaps 3.

We do indeed have some wrongs to settle on Sunday.

  10. It sometimes feels a bit like watching someone doing furiously doing widths, weeing, while everyone else is doing lengths. Perhaps that was me but looking in it doesn’t look like a very productive or pleasurable pursuit.

It must have been the case at one point but I don’t ever remember being confident going to Easter Road. A Bona fide bogey team, but we go into it in better form than any time fit a while and with a striker scoring goals and another goal scoring option in the bench. Tick this one off and then turn our attention to sorting out our record against the Hun

  11. You won’t get rid of the PLC Tory apparatus if you keep buying a circa 1,000 quid season ticket.

They’ll laugh their erchies aff at you for being a weak coward who is all talk and no balls.

Then they’ll give you Maloney, or boring David Gray as manager, once Hibs get rid of him, to let the Huns big and wee destroy the Celtic one horse league monopoly.

The PLC will be secretly hoping that the big Huns win the league so that they go straight into the CL group stages and get their hands on 40 Million+ CL money.

Because Old Firm R Us is what Celtic PLC is all about now.

That is because the PLC did not execute they’re duties in 2012, when they should have barged they’re way into the narrative and DEMANDED that David Murray be punished for the EBT scam, not tens of thousands of football fans losing their club to a Knight of the Realm.

Celtic PLC would have lessened the intensity between the fans of both clubs if they would have steered the EBT Narrative along the lines of, “FOOTBALL FANS CANNOT BE PUNISHED FOR DAVID MURRAY’s CRIMES” and the Huns would probably have applauded Celtic PLC for demonstrating what Integrity really means!

Every dog on every street can see it these failures..

If they had put David Murray in jail in 2012, like he would have done to them if the situation with EBT’s was in reverse, then the Huns wouldn’t have lost their club and turned the SPL into a one horse league since 2012.

If auld MON is not in on the Celtic PLC Old Firm inside job sabotage, then why does he too play every game with one striker????

Is there anybody within the Celtic building who can be trusted on ANY issue????

Celtic aren’t Celtic anymore since 2012, with a PLC who operates like that, and with fans/sheeple who just suck it up then blame the PLC like hypocrisy that should never be allowed to darken Celtic’s door.

If you love Celtic as you claim, then stop supporting those who use it as a lucrative hobby at best, or a deceptive mechanism to utterly shaft tens of thousands of innocent, well meaning, Celtic supporters, most of whom have never saw Celtic being led by a leader!

Celtic have had ZERO leaders since the PLC trap was put into place.

Sir/Lord Haughey and David Low will just give you more of the same using different words.

Why would any “real” Celtic supporter like these two claim to be, try to trick you into buying season tickets to keep the utterly awful Tory PLC structures in place?

    Sad are the homes….

  24. AULDHEID – I appreciate your observations and the board would do well to remember that there are those in the support who know what their job entails, and are perfectly capable of accurately criticizing them when they don’t do it. The club is a case study in governance failure obscured by operational success.

Figures you addressed in a series of posts:

    – Wilfried Nancy – 100% agree with you that “I would not have given him the job based solely on his communication ability and his messages”. It was not a language issue, it was a lack of presence and confidence.

    – Gianni Infantino – 100% agree with you. An absolute Canute of a man. Sucking up to the vile Donald Trump with a FIFA peace prize just about sums him up.

    – Brian Wilson – He is doing his job and serving his master. Lest we forget, BW is the face for the message because MN doesn’t speak, and DD saves his words for stuff that he cares about. My thoughts on the interview yesterday were extremely well captured by the post from LIONSROAR67.
