It is early enough in the season that Celtic have ample scope to recover from the odd reversal but with October just around the corner Neil Lennon and his players will be wondering why they have not won two consecutive league games this season. This particular oddity can be put right tomorrow if Celtic win and leapfrog Motherwell, who sit precariously at the top of the SPL, albeit having played a game more.
There is also probably some fine-tuning required on formation. We kept a clean sheet in both Champions League qualifying away games but have not achieved one in three away SPL games against weaker opposition than Helsingborgs or HJK Helsinki.
Motherwell exited the League Cup on Wednesday but don’t expect this to sap momentum; Celtic on Saturday is their cup final. We can expect a direct and physical challenge on what is likely to be a heavy pitch.
An early goal from the champions would settle the nerves. If they get this, don’t be surprised if they go on to win comfortably. Despite indifferent form this season the signs are there that Celtic are getting their game together. Prediction: 0-4.

Scrambled eggs.
The original lyric for “Yesterday”
Celtic have played 13 competitive games this year. In five of those Celtic have won by the scoreline of 2-0. I think we’ll beat Motherwell 2-0 on Saturday also. Currently 15-2 best price with Betfair.

0-4 to us?!
Forgive me but I think you are being rather generous to our opponents!
Did’nt they lose 2-0 to a fourth tier side in midweek?
I have fond memories of 2 matches there –
1978 – 5-1 to us – my cousin was over from Italy and it was his very first match in Scotland. He was 17 and had never experienced anything like it in his life – he’s now 51 and still talks about it to this day!
1982 – 7-0 to us – Charlie Nick hat-trick (whatever happened to him?!) and a memorable goal from big Roy who went on a mazy run(!!), beat 12 men and scored!
HH!!
Does anyone who understands technical stuff tell me what I need to run CelticTV (Ch67) on my computer.
I uses Windows Vista on an HP Pavillion Entertainment Laptop.
Are there any weird settings I need to fix or any specific pieces of software I need to make it work?
Thanks.
Sammi “retains possession and plays intelligently”
Knock it off, he’s got lots of good qualities, carrying the ball, pace, unpredictable, but keeping possesion and playing intelligently aren’t two of them.
I probably sound like I’m having a real pop at sammi, which isn’t what I intended. Given the stats posted earlier I’m not sure Sammi in the team compensates for how exposed our defence can be when he plays left.
Is he the best option on tuesday assuming we play one up front? I’m not sure the ball sticks enough when he plays alone up front and he doesn’t appear to relish close attention from defenders. Can we play him left accepting that Izzy/mulgrew will be exposed behind him? I’m not sure we can having seen Spartak against Barca (albeit only highlights)
Kev
Fair point, I was screaming for izzy to be replaced in the first half v benfica. So far away from the player he was b4 the leg break. Mulgrew LB is an option but I prefer us when he is at CB tbh
If Motherwell play as they did on Wednesday we should stuff them
I have a inkling that they may play much better
Btw spoke to a couple of Well fans today ….they were far from happy about McCalls approach to the Sevco game …they’re even getting fed up

Thanks. Have had a few in my time but none since the newCQN came out. For that reason and with it being the most recent, this one means the most to me.
I dedicate it to all who have supported me through in my never-ending quest to be first.

KevJungle: the poor man’s Declan.
The Lanarkshire Liedowners will be looking to kick our players up and down the pitch as usual.
Hopefully Broony and co. will return the favour. Put a bit of stick about, make em jump.
I see Georgios is auditioning for the “Serpico” remake:

Got tickets for the Phil O’Donnell (RIP) or what used to be their Main Stand tomorrow.
Last time I was in that stand was when we gubbed them 7-1 and a certain Mr Henrik Larsson slotted 4 of them.
Hope that’s an omen……and possibly a certain Gary Hooper stick 4 away for the 2nd game on the bounce???
Fingers crossed!
BTW stuffing murderwell is second only to stuffing the huns for me, and realllly looking forward to stuffing them and having a ball with a few celebratory cold ones at the quiz tomorrow night afterwards

Bought it.
Like what I’m seeing. Sometimes you don’t get the games here so I have it for future reference.
PF @ 13:16,
Was playing 7s last night and around 6 or 7 of the guys playing were murderwell fans.
I was winding them up big time about wed night and how not to worry about the result as the wee clubs always raise their game for the big teams…….as they would do to us on Saturday :-)
But all of them were none-too-impressed with the mullets tactics and the attitude of most of their players. They expect massive improvement tomorrow.
Wont be easy, but they all said they are defending poorly just now.
Early goal for us and I can see Paul67’s 4-0 forecast coming true!
HAIL! HAIL!

I overheard an old, bigoted hun at work mention something about remarks Charlie Mulgrew has made on Twitter. Anyone out there follow him to see what he actually said

Well said!
I also remember the 7-1 game when Henrik ran riot. Also a 6-0 in 83/84 (?) in the Cup.
Any of those scores would suit me just fine – and no injuries!

works for me. Can’t get over as often as I would like and don’t have Sky so use it to watch games “as live” later that evening or next morning.

What game are Alba showing later?

Nothing controversial on his twitter page that I can see.
Off course there are some parody accounts of certain players so there might be something on one of those.

Cheers, Mort.

Bhoys and ghirls I was wondering if you could keep my best mate’s 7 year old wee girl Karina in your prayers. She is midway through her first course of chemo having been diagnosed with bone marrow cancer and a tumour which is curving round her spine. She will be undergoing chemo and radiotherapy and surgery as part of her treatment.

Done, mate. And I THINK I SPEAK FOR MOST ON HERE,for once.
All the best,I hope her recovery is short and sweet.
