CELTIC face a 24-hour delay before they can push ahead in their potential £3million move for Los Angeles midfielder Mateusz Bogusz.

Negotiations have been put on hold with the MLS club preparing for a League Cup Final against Columbus Crew in Ohio in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Discussions will resume in the immediate aftermath as the Hoops push for the 23-year-old Poland-born star as Friday’s transfer deadline looms, according to Sky Sports.

ON TARGET…Los Angeles midfielder Mateusz Bogusz celebrates a goal against Portland Timber.

Bogusz, a powerful middle-of-the-park operator, scored in his team’s 4-0 semi-final win over Colorado Rapids in midweek and will play a key role in the showpiece showdown.

He has netted 13 goals and provided five assists in 14 games to attract the attention of Brendan Rodgers’ scouts with the Parkhead squad requiring reinforcements with Matt O’Riley about to seal his £30million switch to Brighton.

Bogusz, who earns in the region of £10,000-per-week, is under contract at the LA club until December 2026.
