CELTIC have been caught up in a transfer payment dispute over Alexandro Bernabei that could escalate to FIFA.
The former left-back joined SC Internacional in a £4.2million four-year deal in January 2025 after protracted discussions between the clubs, as CQN stated at the time.
Reports from South America claim the Parkhead club have not received the due instalments from the Brazilian club and have referred the case to the world football’s ruling body.

The defender was brough to Glasgow by Ange Postecoglou and scored one goal in 28 appearances, but was axed from the first team after the arrival of Brendan Rodgers and was allowed to move to SC Internacional in a season-long loan.
The temporary transfer expired on Christmas Eve 2024 and both clubs were locked in negotiations before a deal was thrashed out for the 26-year-old full-back.
After penning the contract, Bernabei, who netted three goals in 23 league games for the team, said: “I’m very happy here, my family too. I want to continue doing my best to help Inter achieve great results.
“I know the size and weight of wearing this shirt. Now, it’s time to continue looking for the best achievements together with my team-mates and our fans.”
Bernabei still had two and a half years to run on his Celtic terms when he moved to Brazil.
