CELTIC IN HIBS SWITCH

CELTIC’S Premiership fixture against Hibs has been switched to Monday, January 11 at Parkhead.

The game was originally due to be played on the preceding Saturday afternoon, but the SPFL have announced the encounter has now been rescheduled.

The Hoops coasted to a 3-0 win with goals from Callum McGregor, Albian Ajeti and Mohaned Elyounoussi when the clubs met in the previous meeting in Glasgow in September, but the champions had to rely on a stoppage-time equaliser from on-loan AC Milan defender Diego Laxalt to salvage a point in a 2-2 draw at Easter Road earlier this month.

Celtic are still recovering from the shock Betfred League Cup exit after Ross County’s 2-0 victory at the home of the trophy holders yesterday. The team now travel to Italy for a meaningless Europa League match against AC Milan on Thursday evening before returning to face St Johnstone in the east end of Glasgow on Sunday.

Next up is a home tie against Lille, against whom they earned their only point in the group with a 2-2 stalemate in France, and then the club will turn their focus back to points-gathering at home againstĀ Kilmarnock on Sunday December 13. A week later, they will take on Hearts in the delayed Scottish Cup Final at Hampden.

The Hoops have three league confrontations, one against their League Cup conquerors from Dingwall on Wednesday, December 23, a trip to Hamilton on Boxing Day before they bring down the curtain on an eventful year at home to Dundee United four days later.
