ANGE POSTECOGLOU has given Celtic the green light to step up their efforts to sign £5million-rated Croatian defender Mario Vuskovic.

Hoops scouts have been keeping tabs on the 19-year-old Hajduk Split back-four performer and the clubs are now in talks about a summer switch, according to a report in the Scottish Sun.

Vuskovic will be on the move in the forthcoming window and the Split hierarchy are said to have already set a price for the talented centre-back with Serie A  outfit Torino also interested.

SUPER MARIO…Celtic have targeted Hajduk Split defender Mario Vuskovic.

The highly-rated teen could become the first signing in Postecoglou’s pre-season revamp at the Glasgow giants who will be aiming for their tenth title in 11 campaigns.

Celtic, of course, raided the Croatian market in the summer of 2015 when Ronny Deila swooped for Dinamo Zagreb centre-half Jozo Simunovic who coincidentally also cost £5million. He enjoyed five years at Parkhead before a knee injury saw him leave in 2020.
