Celtic interims show what a stable club looks like

869

Celtic interim accounts for the 6 months to 31 December were released this afternoon.  The standout figure is that, despite Champions League revenue being absent this year, football and stadium income was down from £16.8m to a similar £16.5m.  This suggests other ticket sales increased.

The hit from the lack of Champions League came in the multimedia and commercial column, which was down from £19.5m to £7.9m, but the club still make an operating profit of £3.2m.  So, we’ve a fairly solid club on our hands.

We invested £5.7m in players, while making a profit of £7.1m on disposals.  With player trading, tax and interest all accounted for, we made a profit for the period of £6.601m.  This Armageddon thing is working out quite well.

    “I have a good feeling but we have to do the hard work and stay focused,” he said. “They can be legends if they can get the treble and I think a lot of them want it. It is going to be tough.”

    Name names Ronnie, who doesn’t want it…!

    Imagine how much better it could look with CL money.

    Given the fall out from exiting that competition had a knock on in many ways, things are on the up.

    “Dave King insists that he is ‘a fit and proper’ person to take charge of Rangers, despite the tax battle and his involvement in Rangers during the Craig Whyte era and would meet the criteria set by the Scottish Football Association”

    Shurely the SFA at some point have to break cover and comment on this, what kind of criteria have they set if a glib and shameless tax avoiding liar would pass it?

    Maybe if somebody asks them if their the same club, they’ll brake cover…..

    We get out what we put into our club and we work hard for every bit of success we get.nowt is taken for granted.it has been that way since 1888.

  7. My friends in Celtic,

    “Peter Lawell is amazing.” This is not from one of the happy clappers on here, this is from our own manager.

    I thought RD was referring to our player signings and retensions, but after reading Paul67’s article ,maybe he had a sneak preview and it is that he is refering to.

    “Peter Lawwell has been amazing in this transfer window,” he said. “We wanted the two Dundee United players – and we got them.

    “Kris Commons, I took the decision and we went through with it, so the board and Peter have been fantastic in this transfer window. I am so happy when I see the new boys in training – it’s quality.

    “I see the team are happy to get them in as well – two young Scottish players who are hungry with a lot of skills. It has been a good week and we are in a good place right now.”

    All well and good Ronnie, but what about Michael Duffy, why hasn’t he had a mention?

    Any word on elbows being cited for violence yet, or is it another case of selective SFA rules

    _____________________________________________________________________

    The referee gave freekick’s for both incidents therefore, there is no need for any further action from the SFA. Unfortunately that’s the rules – & the reason why the referee blow’s for the foul’s, so they can commit however many violent assault’s they want without ever having to face the SFA or SPFL.

    The only other option, should someone ever get seriously injured from such an incident, is to take the Scottish Football Authorities to Court. I would even go as far as suggesting that they are taken to Court now, before anyone is put out of the game for a long time but, player protection ain’t something are board can be proud of.

    Big week ahead for us with three away games looming. We have a big and strong enough squad though and having not participated in a real competitive match since 24th January I think we’ll come through it ok

  16. Great to see Commons settle his new contract with the club. His goal last Sunday was superb probably his best since his cracker in the Champions League qualifiers a couple of seasons ago which helped get us into the group stages.

    Dear oh dear, “rip up the rule book” says delahunt.

    “Biggest decision the sfa has ever had to make” keevins hyperbole. Is that since they last threw out their rule book for the benefit of one club and to the shame of scotland. The rules are they to stop this kind of pantomine. Shameful.

    The above is a link to Celtics six month figures.

    You will notice on page 1 it talks about operational highlights and then financial highlights.

    We’ll there is a third section there, written on invisible ink, which only becomes visible when it is sprinkled with holy water. It is called ‘Unseen Fenian highlights’ and includes the following;

    • Underground rail connection to Vatican upgraded to high speed link.

    • Sale of George Square to Celtic agreed with GCC for total sum of £1{payable in 100 easy payments}

    • Peter Lawell to be cloned 5 times in order for him to assume every position on every SFA Board.

    • Sevco to appoint ex Celtic coach as caretaker manager to assist with them finishing 5th in League.
