SWANSEA boss Graham Potter admitted he had a LAUGH when he discovered he had been linked with the Celtic manager’s job.
The Championship side’s 42-year-old gaffer was the latest name to be put forward by media across the border, as CQN reported on the latest “bizarre” spin in the Hoops guessing game at the weekend.
Over the period of a few days, Roberto Martinez, Andre Villas-Boas, Rafa Benitez and Michael O’Neill had all been named as possible long-term successors to Brendan Rodgers who quit in February to take over Leicester City.
Former manager Neil Lennon accepted the post on an interim basis and is unbeaten in eight games while taking the champions to within touching distance of the their eighth successive title.
The Irishman is also 90 minutes away from a place in history if the Hoops overcome Hearts in the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden on May 25 when the club would achieve an unprecedented treble treble.
Potter has totally dismissed the the Parkhead links and admitted he enjoyed a joke about the speculation with Ibrox fan Oli McBurnie, the Welsh club’s Scotland international striker.
Speaking to Wales Online, he admitted: “It’s just speculation in the media. I had a laugh with Oli McBurnie about it, but it’s just speculation. I’ve had no contact with Celtic.
“I don’t really think about it, to be honest. I’ve got a job to do here.
“You can’t stop the stories in the papers.”
