CELTIC KEEPERS ON MOVE

Logan Bailly is poised to return to Belgium with Gent on the trail of the 30-year-old former international No.1.

And Italian Leo Fasan, 22, will also be in demand as a loan target for Scottish clubs.

Bailly, who was signed by ex-boss Ronny Deila from OH Leuven in July 2015, was Craig Gordon’s back-up last season.

The former Borussia Monchengladbach shotstopper, who played eight times for Belgium, made five first team appearances, three in the Premiership and two in the Scottish Cup.

Bailly made his debut in a 3-1 win win over Dundee United at Tannadice in August, but had to wait until January this year before he played again, keeping a clean sheet in the 3-0 Scottish Cup win over Stranraer at Stair Park.

He returned for the next match in the national competition, a 2-0 victory over East Kilbride at Airdrie’s Shyberry Stadium in February.

The experienced custodian also played in the 1-1 league draw at Hamilton later that month with Gordon out through injury.

His last game was the 2-1 defeat from St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park in May.

Brendan Rodgers took him with the squad for pre-season in Slovenia and he played in a couple of the warm-up games.

However, he snapped an ankle in training and was sidelined with Fasan stepping up.

The Italian, who was signed from Udinese in 2010, was on the bench for 11 games in the last campaign, but has yet to make his competitive debut for the Hoops.

However, he played in the 2-0 defeat against Inter Milan in Limerick in August in the International Champions Cup which was classed as a friendly.

Rodgers will listen to offers for Bailly and could be persuaded to allow Fasan to move to get game time.

Gordon, of course, has claimed his first team place again after sitting out five-and-a-half games after the Irishman brought in his ex-Swansea goalie Dorus de Vries in a £400,000 deal with Nottingham Forest in August.

The Dutchman is now deputy to the Scotland international who has gone a remarkable 14 hours and 16 minutes since he conceded a goal to Scottish opposition.

Gordon last lost a goal in domestic competition to St Johnstone’s Steven MacLean in the 89th minute of the champions’ 4-2 win in Perth on August 20.
