BOSUN LAWAL has agreed a season-long loan at Scott Brown’s Fleetwood Town – on the same day he extended his Celtic contract to June 2026.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 centre-back will be given game-time in the English third tier and the move south was forecast by CQN almost a MONTH ago.
Brendan Rodgers was impressed by the powerful 20-year-old defender who was involved in the champions’ pre-season preparations in Portugal and Japan, as reported in the club website.

Lawal will now join his Hoops team-mate Adam Montgomery at Celtic legend Brown’s club after the left-back, who spent last term on a temporary transfer at St Johnstone, signed a year-long switch earlier in the summer.
The Dublin-born back-four operator, who has won four Under-21 caps for his country, joined the Parkhead club from Watford in 2021.
Lawal featured regularly for the Celtic B side in the Lowland League and played his part in the youngsters’ Glasgow Cup triumph over Ibrox opposition in Govan in May.
The towering centre-half made his debut in the 5-0 Scottish Cup win over Morton in the east end of Glasgow in January.
Norwich City, Portsmouth and Bristol Rovers were also in the hunt for Lawal, but Broony won the chase and is expecting big things from the defender in his push for promotion in his second season in charge at Fleetwood.
