CELTIC KID GLOVES ANSWERS SOS

CELTIC kid keeper Tobi Oluwayemi has agreed an emergency loan move to Kilmarnock.

The youngster, who made 36 appearances during his temporary transfer to Neil Lennon’s Dunfermline last season, has signed for the Rugby Park club on an initial seven-day deal after answering their SOS.

Killie are struggling for cover in the No.1 position and London-born Oluwayemi, who moved to the Hoops from Spurs in 2019, will be in contention for the Ayrshire outfit’s match against Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday and the home encounter against Aberdeen a week today.

READY TO GO…Tobi Oluwayemi has agreed to SOS switch to Kilmarnock.

Oluwayemi has already had loans spells at Cork City and Admira Wacker as well as the Fife club and has amassed 47 first-team outings altogether.

The 22-year-old netminder is the second of Hoops young shotstoppers to go on a temporary switch after Josh Clarke joined Mark Wilson’s Championship side Partick Thistle in the summer.

Brendan Rodgers obviously feels the champions are well served for keepers with Kasper Schmeichel first choice and Finnish international Viljami Sinisalo and Ross Doohan as back-up.

A Kilmarnock statement said: “We can confirm the signing of goalkeeper Tobi Oluwayemi on an emergency seven-day loan from Celtic.”
