CELTIC loan Bhoy Dane Murray was praised by Queen’s Park boss Callum Davidson after his quickfire debut in the side’s 1-1 draw against Livingston at Lesser Hampden last night.
The 21-year-old central defender agreed a season-long deal before being pushed into the first team for their opening Championship of the game against David Martindale’s West Lothian outfit who were relegated last term.
Davidson was clearly impressed by his latest signing and said: “I know the type of player I want here and Dane’s that type.

“I’m delighted we managed to get him in. I think we saw in this match that the guy has real potential, a good centre-half who can really use the ball.
“So, I’m really pleased at this move.”
Davidson, speaking to the club website, added: “We had been looking to get Dane in for a few weeks now to bolster our defence.
“He was part of the Celtic squad that toured America this summer and that shows how highly they rate him.
“Coming to Queen’s Park gives Dane a platform to build first-team experience that will help him in the seasons to come.”
IN THE RED…Dane Murray prepares for his Queen’s Park debut.
Murray, who made his first appearance for the Hoops as an 18-year-substitute when Ange Postecoglou threw him on in the 1-1 Champions League qualifier against FC Midtjylland following Nir Bitton’s first-half red card.
He kept his place for the second leg in Denmark as the Parkhead lost 2-1 in extra-time. Unfortunately, his progress at Parkhead stalled through injury problems.
The youngster, who has been capped at Scotland Under-16, 17 and 19 level, played against Queen’s Park in the champions’ 6-4 win in a thrill-a-minute friendly last month.
On his debut, Zak Rudden gave the hosts a first-half lead, but Matt Clarke levelled 10 minutes from time.
