Celtic need to learn resuscitation methods

980

Celtic have lost in the game immediately after three of their previous four European games, shipping nine points which could be crucial in determining the destination of the championship, so it was not surprising they were below par for much of the game yesterday.  Fortunately, the Aberdeen goal came early enough to allow Celtic time to raise their game and respond.

How Celtic respond after European games will become even more crucial in the weeks ahead as they have visits to Motherwell, Dundee United and St Johnstone due after our next three Europa League games.  Any slim championship aspirations will be extinguished in these games if Celtic are unable to improve performance for the league challenge.

Ally McCoist is defying early predictions and grinding out impressive results for Rangers, who will seldom have started the league with such an impressive defensive record.  Six away wins from six games without conceding a goal is the kind of form it takes to win leagues.

Our more immediate challengers, Motherwell, dropped two points on Saturday, meaning we can go two points clear of them if we win our game in hand, however, the teams meet at Fir Park a week on Sunday (three days after Celtic play Rennes), in what looks like being a key game in our season.

Your 10/1 was a good bet. but 9/5 they are giving at present isn’t.have you watched Celtic lately, they are the pits. You can’t go to Celtic park expecting a win as you could years ago.

No matter who we play, the points are not in the bag,I now go to the games with some trepidation in my heart,NO with a lot of trepidation in my heart.

When I was a young supporter in the fifties, when Celtic were really grim, I was young enough to shrug of the many defeats we had,I suppose I was brought into the game when we weren’t the best team in the world, and in my heart I feel we are slipping back down to those levels,it’s become a drag going to the games now, maybe it’s my age but I doubt it,I’m getting sickened by what’s being served up.

On Saturday,I saw some good football for our first goal,a team effort, but after the goal they went back into their shells and played as individuals, football’s a team game and the man in charge should emphasize that it is a team game we’re playing, not a bunch of individuals playing their own game and trying to pick up kudos along the way.

    my opinion only.

Two new companies incorporated today on companies house with “Glasgow Rangers” in their name.

  7. Somebody on RTC saying you can’t register a company name that “would infringe upon a trademark, or which is obviously designed to mislead or cause confusion” and that Companies House check existing records prior to registering. Basically some sort of legal right to use the brand name would need to be proven before the company was registered.

I know they do some checks as I had a friend who tried to register a company name and had to jump through hoops with it due to an existing company and EU regulations about what can be in a name.

Wouldn’t it also be fun if made public the Celtic support were in talks with the club to have some kind of commemorative jersey on the year we overtook the hun title haul?

It was pointed out earlier on today that two new companies have been registered with Companies House today – ‘Glasgow Rangers Ltd’ and ‘Glasgow Rangers Football club Ltd’. Both are registered to Chancery Court Business House in High Wycombe, which rents out office space to companies so these addresses are virtually meaningless as many registered Companies House addresses can be.

However, upon researching, it appears that a company called Saffery Champness, who are corporate accountants who deal with high-end clients, corporate finances etc are claiming that they assisted Craig Whyte in the purchase of Rangers in their July newsletter –

    http://www.saffery.com/pdf/publicati…searchtext.xml

I could very easily be putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 here, but Saffery’s registered office in High Wycombe is a mere 8 minutes away from this registered office for the two new companies that have appeared today.

Too hard to find out more information in the background of both companies in terms of who the directors are, as they were only just registered today.

Personally speaking, I do not recall any mention of Saffery Champness in the run up to the takeover of our club in May.

Not trouble making, just asking the question, could it just be a case of Mr Whyte preparing for the worst?

I appreciate there is no direct connection between the Saffery and the two new companes as yet apart from their close proximity, perhaps I’m making something over nothing.

Just thought it was worth a mention.

My guess is it’s just a front office, sounds like a upmarket name but it’s in the middle of Cressex Industrial Estate, which is a large multifunctional estate (or Business Park as we call it these days), it has everything from Builders merchants to NHS facilities.

For the financially uneducated like myself, I understand that administration is not like bankruptcy

So if the huns go into admin, I understand that a team of financial folks will try to find a way to

    a) keep the huns afloat

    b) pay off their creditors

Obviously if there is not enough cash to do this what are the huns options

Does admin mean that they can

    a) keep paying their players

    b) don’t pay the cleaners and suppliers etc

    c) don’t pay the tax man

    d) take a 10 point penalty

    e) Come out of it renamed “ra huns”

    f) Continue to play at ibroke

    g) Continue to use their existing players

    h) Take in new investors to the relatively debt free “Glasgow ra huns”

Is that the extent of their problems or is it worse than that

Obviously it would be very nice if they went bust/got relegated

You can form a company online in minutes.

The automated system does some basic checks but they are very limited. Once past the basic checks it doesn’t mean you’re home and dry, there is ample legislation to allow a company to object to the name of the younger incorporation. Importantly here however is that if the original incarnation is to suffer an insolvent liquidation then who is there to object? The new owner now has the name.

Man I hope it is a Tim who has registered these names with a view to objecting to the use of the name by a newco. Timing is everything.
