CELTIC ‘OFFERED’ TERMS TO ALGERIAN ACE

CELTIC have offered a pre-contract to Algerian midfielder Zinedine Ferhat, according to a report in France.

The 28-year-old playmaker is out of contract at the end of the season and will be leaving Nimes after their relegation from Ligue 1 during the previous campaign.

The Parkhead club were linked with Ferhat in last month’s transfer window after the player refused to train with the rest of the squad or perform in France’s second tier.

Nimes, however, resisted selling their star man and he will now see out the remaining four months of his deal before quitting the team.

Celtic have been named by sports media outlet Foot Mercato as one of two clubs – the other being Turkish giants Trabzonspor – who have already reportedly “offered” terms.

It has also been suggested the French side are still considering an extension bid, despite Ferhat’s insistence he will be on the move.
