Celtic are Britain’s only former winner in this afternoon’s Champions League group stage draw, joining four English clubs, attempting to secure the trophy for the first time. Both Spanish former winners, Barcelona and Real Madrid, are there, as are Portuguese winners, Benfica and Porto.
Like Britain, only one of Italy’s former champions – Juventus – are in this season’s tournament. Past champions from Germany, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund made it, while Netherlands’ Eindhoven complete the line-up of nine former European champions in this season’s group stage.
Best of luck to all former champions.
Enjoy the draw, and remember, game dates can be changed, so be careful if you’re booking flights.

You podium hogger,you. ;))
Sorry, I can’t remember who posted the link to the mock CL Draw last night.
I tried it and we came out in a group with Leicester, Seville and Lyon.
That would be OK. We could come third in that group. Maybe even get to last 16. Easy travel, Battle of Britain :)
I’ve changed my mind
Benfica, Seville and Brugge please :-)

I can remember booking flights to Copenhagen immediately after Celtic published the fixture dates on the club website then they changed the game from the Tuesday to the Wednesday and a panic ensued. Fortunately we managed to get the flights changed for about £15 each.

Wee question-
How many of the other last 32 teams have had a former Celtic player play for them?
I can think of 24 players, doubtless there’ll be many more-
Barca – Henrik , Marc crosas, Juarez
Leicester – Neil Lennon, mike Galloway, Carl muggleton, Steve guppy, Ian Andrews
Dortmund – Murdo Macleod, Paul lambert
Arsenal – charlie Nicholas, Ian wright, John Hartson
Man city – jim Melrose, samaras, mick McCarthy
Leverkusen – Andreas thom
Spurs – wanyama
Kiev – badr el kaddourri
Sporting Lisbon – Jorge Cadete
Lyon – mick McCarthy again
Monaco – John Collins
Legia – dzielanowski, wdowczyk , boruc
Had to laugh at the post about Hootsman saying we’re in the ‘bottom pot’ instead of pot 4.Almost feel sorry for the wee hurting hun.But obviously I don’t
La la loving it. ;))
We signed Iniesta yet?
I assume McCarthy would replace Bitton or Rogic/McGregor. He’d be a step up in class from all of them.
Yorkbhoy
James McCarthy…..Centre mid….Scott Brown deeper, or on the right.
Cant see it happening though.
HH
YORKBHOY
Central midfield. Take your pick. Assume Brown will remain so Brown, McCarthy plus one other (preferable Rogic)

Dipped in here for a quick look.
Jeezo it’s like an episode of the glums!
Apparently the blog is now inhabited by huns trolls and racists according to the pleasantries being flung around.
Just remember racism is like cricket………………………. Invented in England but perfected in Australia.

Always painful to hear ignorance spouted by Celtic supporters .
