CELTIC POLISH CENTRAL DEFENDER LINK

CELTIC’S search for defensive reinforcements have taken them back to Legia Warsaw, where they recruited Josip Juranovic in 2021.

The Croatian right-back left for Union Berlin in January after a successful time in Glasgow and a starring role in the World Cup.

Twenty-two-year-old German-born Poland international Maik Nawrocki has drawn Celtic’s attention.  The central defender came through the Werder Bremen youth system although he never played for the club.

TARGET MAN…Celtic have been linked with Polish international centre-back Maik Nawrocki.

He spent a few months on loan to Warta Poznan in early 2021 before a season’s temporary stint at Legia.  That move was made permanent last summer.

Legia need to sell one player this summer to make budget, Nawrocki to Celtic would fit the bill.  CQN believes this one has legs.

With Cameron Carter-Vickers out following knee surgery, the Hoops, of course, had to play midfielder Tomoki Iwata in central defence alongside Carl Starfelt in the run-in to the season.

The  versatile Japanese performer was in place when the champions beat Inverness Caley Thistle in the Scottish Cup Final when the team sealed the world record eighth domestic treble.
