Celtic Reportedly Tracking Highly Rated Ligue 1 Youngster

IT HAS been a wonderful season for Celtic and manager Brendan Rodgers in the campaign of 2024/25 and as well as already lifting the Premier Sports League Cup trophy, our dominance continues at the top of the Scottish Premiership table and the title is undoubtedly ours once again.

Another treble is more than on for our Northern Irish gaffer as we have the Scottish Cup to go. We also enjoyed a very memorable Champions League campaign as we made the most of the newly revamped format and more than did ourselves credit in the Knockout Round Play Offs against German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

That is not to say we have not had a slip up or two along the way, with a couple of very underwhelming performances, but short of a very unforeseen fall from grace in the remaining matches, it will be another year of success and for those fans who like to dabble with online casino games like those available at https://www.slotozilla.com/uk/free-spins or even like a flutter on their football they will continue to favour the odds in our favour as we hit the latter stages of the campaign.

So that will leave many fans looking ahead to the coming 2025/26 season with hopes that we will strengthen appropriately in the summer transfer window, and look to kick on even further next year with fewer occasional hiccups.

With the speculation rumour mill already in full flow, one interesting name has appeared this week that may well be worth remembering. According to French outlet Le Republicain Sportif, Celtic are one of a number of clubs keeping a close tab on exciting young Nantes versatile attacker Herba Guirassy.

The 18 year old talent has been a prolific goalscorer as he has made his way through the Ligue 1 sides youth ranks, and in recognition of his progress back in the summer of 2023 the side handed him his first professional contract seeing him through until the summer of 2026. He made his senior club debut for them back in August 2024 in their game against Toulouse, and he now boasts two Ligue 1 starts with 13 substitute appearances, and a return of two goals.

He is clearly on the radar of a number of clubs given the potential many believe he holds and he has previously been linked with English Championship promotion hopefuls Leeds United, owing to his ‘impressive technical skills’ and the belief that he will develop into a ‘major asset’ in the coming next few years. As he gains experience at a higher level, he has not yet replicated his youth form as he scored 24 goals in 36 games for their Under 19 side, but it is expected that his clinical eye for goal will follow as he better finds his feet in the professional game.

If Celtic do have an interest in his future services here it would be undoubtedly as a player for the future and not someone who would anticipate featuring for Rodgers with an regularity in the coming campaign, but he could well be a youthful, more raw, type of option to come off the bench on occasions as he settled into life at Parkhead, and with him already growing into the Ligue 1 game, there would be good reason to think he would settle in Scotland once he better adjusted to the more physical nature of the game.

He is not the type of signing many would prioritise to more immediately improve the starting XI options, but as said, he could well be a name to remember although we would certainly be looking for better value than the 10 million Euros fee currently being bandied around.
