Celtic rested and ready

656

Brendan Rodgers had to prepare a tired and injured squad in recent weeks as he competed for the League Cup, Europa League and league title.  He rested players at Motherwell, bringing criticism from some quarters, but won the League Cup, qualified for the next phase of the Europa League and sits three points clear at the top of the Premiership with a game in hand.

At Pittodrie we saw Celtic move through the gears.  Aberdeen are in their best form in years, but could not take a point despite two penalty kicks, one of which should have been tied in a Christmas bow it was so generous.

A little later, Neil Lennon took Hibernian to Ibrox.  Neil has a significantly poorer squad than Brendan and is even more affected by injuries, but he would not be defeated.  If Celtic turn up at Ibrox with the same attitude they or Neil Lennon had yesterday, they will shred Newco.

Odsonne Edouard looked like a player transformed after a short break.  His contribution was critical in delivering the result.  Scott Sinclair’s hat-trick thoroughly answered any questions about his form.  Both are ready to do the necessary on Saturday.

  6. Today will be a real test for the team on the park.If we are allowed to play there can only be one outcome-victory.However,as we have seen recently, and will continue to see,the officials will have a major impact. This,in part,is due to our excellent discipline. The referees know that Celtic players will not surround him after a controversial call.

Stay safe all you Bhoys at the game. HH.

Go on Rod, batter that big Celtic drum and sing your heart

out like the rest of us.

Celtic united and baby i’ve decided there the best team i’ve

    ever seen.

Mickey bhoy ‘s got a good head of steam now after a day of

hun hunting and i’m pleased to say the rebel peninsula is

    still hun free.

They obviously know there’s no way that big boaby flasher

and his cokeheided pal have the quality to do a great footballing

    side any damage.

Yes the mib’s will try their best for them but our 800 Spartans

will roar us on to another majestic display.

O.k what about Grace now Rod? let me hear you.

    H.H Mick

  11. Jeez mick…if yer hunting after an original hun…you’ll b done for taking out an endangered species…only pseudo huns left

  12. Just watched that episode of Ray Donovan that Bada Bing ( i think )

was talking about where the brothers are drinking in the bar with the

Celtic F.C 1888 scarf pinned above the till.

And guess what a load of huns ( psuedo ) start bad mouthing the bar

girl and then the Donovan brothers.

I new it would only end one way, with the huns prone on the floor

it’s an omen, i tell ye.

    H.H Mick

  13. Whilst it’s quiet…can I jist say

Melbourne Mick and co. U have my utmost admiration for keepin the Celtic spirit alive down under and for the good u do for your community….would b easy for the youngsters to attach themselves to a big EPL club without your influence…chapeau

    H.H.

  14. Thank you, and yes it’s a difficult task with the EPL getting

maximum exposure in the media here, and elsewhere.

Could our club do more to foster relations with what is really

a Celtic leaning country due to it’s historical past?

Yes i do, and my fear is when all our auld yins are gone who

will do the hard yard to keep CSC’S alive.

But i don’t want to dwell on negativity now, we’ve got pseudo

huns to put back in their dirtbox.

    H.H Mick

  15. morning bhoys from a dark gloomy, but mild Cheshire, a scrappy 1-0 will do me today, just beat them celtic,coybig.hh.

  16. Good morning my Celtic friends from a green and white Garngad

The big question today is not “if we will beat the Sevco” for we will.

No the big question is, what time will I be able to stay out to celebrating a Celtic win “Hunskelping” and a Hibernian win against the horrible Rats of the maroon persuasion.?????????????????????????????????? by that many drinks probably.?

To the 750 Spartan Celts going to the game, please, please do not rag doll the 50,000 ugly sisters all over the bigot dome, after all it would not be a fair fight, there is only on average 66 of them to 1 of us, not really fair on them??

    COYBIG

    D. :)

  17. By the way, where is everyone going to see the game today.

I expect pubs to be busy today.

Myself and a few friends will be in the Howgait formerly known as The Lee in Townhead, Glasgow about 11.30am.

If anyone is in and fancys a pint, then I will be the very young looking Robert Redford lookalikey, sitting up at the big screen.

    Hail Hail

    D. :)

  18. Talking about Celtic leaning places, i worked all round the

area of Boston down to Nantucket island and i’ve never

seen so many tricolours in pubs , clubs , etc, not even in

    the emerald isle.

    H.H Mick.

  19. DAVID 66

As you know i’ve been gone quite a while and i cannot
