CELTIC SCOTTISH CUP DRAW: ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

0

CELTIC overcame the first hurdle in defence of the Scottish Cup with a 2-1 win over Kilmarnock at Parkhead last night.

The holders made it difficult for themselves against the Rugby Park opponents with a succession of remarkable misses, but still got through following strikes from Callum McGregor and Daizen Maeda.

Brendan Rodgers’ men, who collected the silverware for a record 42nd time with their 1-0 triumph over Philippe Clement’s Ibrox club at Hampden on May 25 last year, claimed their place the fifth round draw which will be made tomorrow night around 10pm.

BACK HOME…Brendan Rodgers and Callum McGregor at Hampden on May 25 last year as the Scottish Cup heads for the Celtic Park trophy cabinet for the 42nd time.

The Hoops have already been joined in the last-16 ballot by 12 teams – including Scott Brown’s Ayr United who enjoyed an 8-0 romp against non-league Broxburn Athletic – with Premiership sides Hearts, Aberdeen, Hibs and St Mirren already through.
