CELTIC recovered superbly from the disappointment of the stoppage-time Champions League loss to Lazio to keep their eye on the main domestic prize.
Kilmarnock had already derailed Brendan Rodgers’ side earlier in the season when they knocked the holders out of the Viaplay League Cup on the plastic pitch at Rugby Park.
However, there was no chance Derek McInnes’ men would provide a second banana skin at Parkhead yesterday as they were turned over 3-1 in a lopsided encounter in which the hosts had 26 shots at goal with 12 on target.
ROARING SUCCESS…Reo Hatate celebrates his breathtaking breakthrough goal against Kilmarnock.
Reo Hatate got the show on the road with a marvellous solo effort in the 22nd minute and Luis Palma, a scorer in the dramatic 2-1 victory at Motherwell last weekend, netted his first league goal in the east end of Glasgow with a spectacular 25-yard drive before the interval.
There was a hiccup with the visitors hauled one back, but it was all over as a contest in the 82nd minute when left-back Greg Taylor claimed his first of the campaign when he turned in a Daizen Maeda flick following another accurate left-wing corner-kick delivery from Matt O’Riley.
