Celtic should accept Wilson ban offer

1201

Celtic should accept the offer of a two match ban for Kelvin Wilson following an incident at Dens Park on Boxing Day.  He has never been an aggressive player, so there is no need to assume intent, but an elbow to the face is a painful experience and potentially dangerous.  These are the rules and they are there for good reason.

Celtic Fans – and trail of destruction at Dens

Come on man there may be children on here. You should have put a health warning on that before promoting this level of destruction.

  7. Evening All,

Agree with all the previous posters that we should FIGHT the ban for Kelvin – we cannot allow ESPN to influence the SFA in this sort of thing.

What’s all this with Burley anyway. I just don’t get it. He was very successful at Celtic – scoring something like 20 goals in about 70-ish appearances. He was well-liked at the time. Why is he is blatantly anti-Celtic these days. Or have I missed summat along the way….whilst on my long sojourn in Berlin?

Oh yeah, I KNOW he was born in Ayr – maybe that’s it then!!!!!

May I suggest that you allow him to steeer the conversation tonight,in the spirit of the season.

Obviously you are allowed to put him right as regards any criticism of the hoops.

Might be interesting to hear how long he can go before becoming fulsome in his praise of Charliebhoy.

If,for instance,it is around six pints into the conversation, you can excuse yourself on the pretext of toilet requirements.

Then run in and pish yersel laffin!

  10. I definitely think that we should not accept the 2 match ban. The ref said nothing and the player also said it was an accident and we are supposed to accept a 2 match ban. I do not think so.

    Rangers go under

    14 June

Rangers’ perilous financial position had been an open secret but there was still shock when, after 140 years of history and a world record 54 league titles, the club was consigned to liquidation in mid-June. The Glasgow giants were subsequently reformed as a new company and granted entry to the Third Division, Scotland’s fourth tier, which they currently lead by nine points with a game in hand.

    Looking forward to 2013 already.

  19. On the Baird / Wilson incident :

Even though Baird has admitted the foul on Wilson, it would be very unfair to punish the Dundee player now as the T.V. pictures are blurry and inconclusive.

T.V. footage seems to be the primary evidence.

The red card shown to Lee Wallace against Annan on Dec 18th, was rescinded last night after the referee reviewed footage.

The match between Albion Rovers and Ayr on Stephens Day wasn’t covered, so I presume Christie Elliots red card is not subject to the same appeals process.

A shambles of a system which favours the most high profile with lots of fear amd a healthy dollop of favour.

  20. A lot of masons in Kilwinning? I assume there must be lots of older people and a high death rate, then? ;)

Lads whose great grandfathers were the victims of one of the greatest ever crimes against humanity, now being targeted for the crime of being sympathetic to the land of their forefathers.

  22. Bournesouprecipe – I fully expect a statement then. I cannot think that our manager would accept this.

  26. Can someone explain to me what “being at the back of the bus” means currently?

Given its origins, this is a very strong and emotive analogy. I am not sure how this could possibly apply to an appeal against a red card.

  27. Paul67

I totally disagree with your article. I didn’t see any malicious intent by Kelvin Wilson, though with the replays I could see the Dundee playing pulling at KWs arm.

KW and Celtic should fight this tooth and nail.

The double standards of the SFA, highlighted by this media driven witch hunt, is appalling but not surprising.

So on my perusal of the Dundee Evening Telegrah tonight, instead of 70+ people being summoned at the Sherriff Court in Dundee for any number of offences (insert whatever terrible offence took place in the worst rioting since the 70’s) we have ONE 19 year old from Clydebank up at court on a BOTP charge of singing in support of a terrorist organisation.

  34. In terms of history and honours, Queen’s Park are probably the most prestigious club that The Rangers have met in their entire history.

    To quote Wiki:

“Despite being located midway between Celtic and Rangers, Queen’s Park’s long resistance to professionalism has resulted in not having competed in the same division as them for long periods of time, and thus turning to rivals in lower divisions, such as Partick Thistle, Clyde and Albion Rovers. However, the liquidation of Rangers and the admittance of new club The Rangers to the Scottish 3rd division for the 2012/13 season has given them a Glasgow rival to play once more.”
