CELTIC SIGNING No.4 ON BRINK

JAPANESE defender Hayato Inamura is on the brink of becoming Celtic’s fourth signing of the summer.

The 23-year-old left-sided performer will play his last game for J-League outfit Albirex Niigata today after a transfer had been agreed with the champions, according to a report in local media Sponichi.

Inamura will face Machida Zelvia before travelling to Glasgow to undergo a medical with an official announcement anticipated within a few days.

GOOD SIGNS…Benjamin Nygren completes his move to Celtic.

Brendan Rodgers has been scouring the market for a back-up for returning hero Kieran Tierney who is expected to make his comeback at Lennoxtown on Tuesday following his six-year absence at Arsenal.

Greg Taylor’s contract ends tomorrow and it’s all gone quiet on the Jeffrey Schlupp front, who arrived on loan from Crystal Palace in January and who is also a free agent after his terms expired at the London club.

Inamura is now in Rodgers’ focus with the player making 16 league appearances this season while scoring his first goal last weekend in a 3-2 loss to Avispa Fukuoka.

Unless there are any unexpected hitches, he will become signing No.4, following Tierney, keeper Ross Doohan and Swedish winger Benjamin Nygren, who sealed his £2million switch on Friday.
