CELTIC STAR IN SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER

A TRIO of Celtic’s Premiership fixtures have been changed for live Sky Sports coverage.

One of the switches sees the champions kicking off at the unusual time of eight o’clock on a Saturday evening at St Mirren on November 22.

It gives the Hoops the opportunity to star in their version of Saturday Night Fever under the lights in Paisley and they will be hoping not to leave it as late as the 87th minute for the winning goal, as was the case at Parkhead on the opening league day of the season.

Luke McCowan was the man who unpicked the lock on that occasion.

THAT WINNING FEELING…Luke McCowan celebrates his points-clincher against St Mirren at Parkhead in the Premiership kick-off on August 3.

The match against the Steven Robinson’s outfit had originally been scheduled for a 3pm start, but has now been pushed back five hours to suit TV scheduling.

Brendan Rodgers’ men travel to Edinburgh to take on Hibs at Easter Road on Sunday November 30 with the kick-off altered from 3pm to midday

The satellite broadcasters have confirmed an 8pm start for the game against Dundee United at Tannadice on Wednesday December 17. The fixture had already been scheduled for November 1, but the holders will now face Ibrox opposition in the Premier Sports League Cup semi-final the following day.

The schedule shuffle reads:

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 22

St Mirren v CELTIC (8)

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 30

Hibs v CELTIC (12)

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 17

Dundee United v CELTIC (8)

(All matches live on Sky Sports)
