CELTIC STARS IN EURO SWEAT

CALLUM McGREGOR, Anthony Ralston, Greg Taylor and James Forrest face a 24-hour sweat before Steve Clarke announces his Scotland international squad for next month’s Euro 24 Finals.

The Celtic quartet will discover their fate tomorrow when the pool of 28 is announced for the summer football extravaganza in Germany.

The travelling party will be trimmed to 26 before the Scots kick off the competition against the hosts at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena on Friday June 14.

THE AULD ENEMY…Callum McGregor closes down England keeper Aaron Ramsdale during Scotland’s 3-1 loss at Hampden last year.

The Scots, who also take on Switzerland and Hungary in Group A, face a friendly in Gibraltar on June 3 before the squad is confirmed four days later just before a Hampden farewell to the Tartan Army with a final warm-up game against Finland.

Celtic captain McGregor is a shoo-in to the midfield area and Ralston could get the nod for the right-back slot after injuries to Brentford’s Aaron Hickey and Everton’s Nathan Paterson.

Taylor, Clarke’s former left-back at Kilmarnock, should get the green light to take his place in defence.

Evergreen Forrest has come back into the frame after his recent resurgence at the champions, scoring five goals in eight games, and is in line for a place in Brendan Rodgers’ starting eleven against Rangers in Saturday’s Scottish Cup Final at Hampden.

All will be revealed tomorrow. Watch this space!
