CELTIC are stepping up their bid for Wigan’s 19-year-old striker Kyle Joseph.

The Hoops are aiming to snap up their second English wonderkid in two months after landing Sheffield Wednesday’s teenage midfielder Liam Shaw, as CQN reported.

Now they have trained their sights on Joseph who will be a free agent in the summer and have offered the hot prospect a pre-contract. They hope to finalise an agreement soon which will see his club receive a £300,000 development fee in a cross-border deal. The Scotland Under-19 forward has hit five goals in this campaign.

Spurs have also been monitoring London-born Joseph who could follow the Moussa Dembele example and move to Parkhead in the hope of getting some game-time. The French ace quit Fulham in 2016 in a similar deal before sealing a £19.8million move to Lyon two years later.

The Glasgow giants are building for the future and Hillsborough’s Shaw, who can also play in central defence, is expected at Lennoxtown to kick-start his four-year contract in June
