A comfortable win in the end masked a difficult hour for Celtic at Inverness on Saturday. It was not until Ki Sung-Yeung replaced Georgios Samaras that Celtic were able to prize open the home team. Ki has the range of passing and shot that makes him a formidable attacking threat but he has still to require the consistency of concentration that would make him a certain starter.
After Paddy McCourt appeared on 69 minutes Celtic were well on top. The Irishman brings the double gifts of time and space to the team. He has the ability to take and retain possession despite the close attention of several defenders, allowing others to take up advance positions or relieve pressure on defence.
We’ve tried more midfield formations this season that I can keep track of and despite Ki and McCourt improving Celtic considerably on Saturday I’m not going to insist either is given a starting berth. Both still have more to give, as do the rest of the midfield.

Exactly, mate- it is nothing short of scandalous the way Rangers are treating their creditors.

Don’t blame it on sunshine. Don’t blame it on moonlight. Don’t blame it on good times.
Blame it on the Celtic.

The statement made by the bishop was made and qualified by the stats on the religions of the victims of crime. A proper study has to be carried out as a result of this statement and thae statistics taken.
On the other hand there is no stats to support your statement on the religions of the crimnals.
I was just wondering why all the ‘Journalists’ from the Daily Record, The Sun, Evening Times, Glasgow Herald and Scotsman, etc did not find it appropriate to write huge, sweeping pieces regarding the 90 minutes of bile that was sung at the League Cup Final.

One of the statements can be backed up with the statistics available. For this reason I do not believe that the bishop’s statement is erroneous.
The other statement has been made up on the spot by yourself? and has no statistics to back it up.
Here’s a bet, Dave, try me.

Earlier this month it was announced that Celtic checked the option to pick Mikael Lustig to the Scottish league.
24-year-old RBK contract runs out at New Year, and his agent have already confirmed interest.
According to Adresseavisen to Celtic boss Neil Lennon now have agreed to secure the Swedish right-back.
The Scottish club has struggled with several injuries so far this year, behind Glasgow rival Rangers at number two on the table.
A source close to the club told the newspaper that the manager Lennon must have been convinced after watching the game Lustig in the last two games for Sweden.
Thanks
I wasn’t sure if he was black or not.
So if he has Blackman on his shirt, will Celtic be breaking the new legislation ?????

If like me you follow the SP of Merchant House Group (which I do as they’re CW’s largest known investment outside of Rangers) you should note that the share price has been testing a push below 0.08p/share for a few days.
It looks like it might be about to break it. It’s getting close to the point where CW can’t make any profit by using is Convertable Loan Notes of 0.05p. I haven’t seen any RNS releases regarding his holding going down, so he doesn’t appear to have used this route to release capital as yet and it now seems unlikely that he’ll be able to do so.
I bet he wished he had when the price pushed towards 0.3p not so long ago.

Is Lustig a right back who can play centre back?
I’d rather we sign a centre back who can play right back.
If you know what I mean.
Carl Mikael Lustig (born 13 December 1986) is a Swedish footballer playing for Rosenborg BK in Norwegian Premier League. His favoured position is attacking fullback but due to his height he can also play as a central defender to good effect…

However, the SPL statement says that the deal improves on the £65m five-year deal agreed in 2009.
The league’s chief executive Neil Doncaster said: “Sky Sports and ESPN are two of the biggest names in sports broadcasting and the SPL has enjoyed an excellent relationship with both broadcasters over the course of the current contract, a period which has seen a 28% increase in viewing figures.
“In the current economic climate, announcing an increase in value is excellent news for our clubs.”
Sky and ESPN stepped in to provide live SPL coverage when Setanta went out of business in the middle of their more lucrative rights deal.
The SPL had employed consultants IMG Media to instigate a feasibility study into the launch of their own television channel but that idea has been shelved.
The news comes less than two weeks after Clydesdale Bank announced they would end their sponsorship of the competition at the end of next season.

THE SPL has secured a new five year TV deal with satellite broadcasters Sky Sports and ESPN.
The League today announced a new five-year deal for the live rights to Clydesdale Bank Premier League games. The clubs agreed a deal on improved terms which will run from season 2012/13 to the end of season 2016/17.
Each broadcaster will continue to show 30 live games per season across the UK.
Neil Doncaster, Chief Executive of the SPL, said: “Sky Sports and ESPN are two of the biggest names in sports broadcasting and the SPL has enjoyed an excellent relationship with both broadcasters over the course of the current contract, a period which has seen a 28% increase in viewing figures.
“In the current economic climate, announcing an increase in value is excellent news for our clubs. We are very much looking forward to working with both broadcasters over the coming seasons to continue to raise the profile of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League and provide fans with excellent coverage of their league.”
Barney Francis, Managing Director of Sky Sports, said: “We’re delighted to agree this deal with the SPL and continue our partnership with Scottish football that began 20 years ago.
“This long-term agreement means Sky Sports viewers can continue to enjoy coverage of 30 live matches a season, including each Old Firm head-to-head, across TV, mobile, online and tablet devices.”
Ross Hair, Managing Director, ESPN – Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “The Clydesdale Bank Premier League has been an important part of our schedule in these first two-and-a-half seasons of our local ESPN channel in the UK and Ireland.
“Scottish football has performed well on ESPN as we work to build our brand locally and develop our long-term business. We are very proud of the coverage that we have delivered to fans and are very pleased that they have responded with great support and an increasing connection to ESPN on TV and across digital media.
“We are very excited to continue our coverage and pleased to extend a great partnership with the league.”

My Dear fellow,
The Vernerable Bishop and I have used the same bald statistics and arrived at equally unsubstantiated conclusions.
You might quite like the Bish, or his conclusion, but it’s just poor logic, like all the others published on the topic.
TBB
Is there a clause written into this new TV deal that if the Huns go bust and have to start again from SFL Div 3, that the overall money is re-jigged?
Or do the SPL chairmen know something that we don’t?
