CELTIC are scheduled to play five successive fixtures on a Sunday before they are involved in a traditional match on a Saturday on September 14.
The Premier Sports League Cup encounter against Hibs has been chosen for live coverage by the competition’s satellite sponsor sat Parkhead on August 18 with a 3pm kick-off.
That game will follow the Premiership opener against Kilmarnock at Parkhead on Sunday with a 4.30pm start while the champions take on the Edinburgh club at Easter Road in the league seven days later, this time with a 12.30pm commencement.
Both confrontations will be beamed live by Sky Sports.
HEADLINE ACT: PART ONE…Kyogo Furuhashi celebrates as his two goals help Celtic to a 2-1 League Cup Final triumph over Hibs at Hampden on December 19 2021.
Then comes the League Cup-tie in the east end of Glasgow which will be the first time the sides have met in the tournament since a double salvo from Kyogo Furuhashi downed the Leith side 2-1 in the showpiece showdown at Hampden on December 19 2021.
The triumph gave Ange Postecoglou his first piece of silverware at the Hoops and, of course, he went on to claim four more honours in his two years – two Premiership titles, a Scottish Cup and another League Cup.
The match against Hibs will be followed by the draw for the quarter-finals, which will be played on the weekend of September 21/22.
All ties will be covered live through Premier’s TV channel or their streaming platforms.
HEADLINE ACT: PART TWO…Kyogo Furuhashi celebrates with Greg Taylor after scoring the first of his double in the 2-1 win over Rangers in the League Cup Final on February 26 2023.
On Sunday August 25, Brendan Rodgers will take his players to Paisley for the league match against St Mirren and that game will also be shown live by Sky Sports with a noon kick-off.
Up next, a week later, the satellite station will feature the first derby clash of the new campaign when the champions host Philippe Clement’s Ibrox outfit with a 12.30pm start.
Rodgers’ men take on Hearts in the east end of Glasgow in their first Saturday fixture of the season on September 14.
