CELTIC TARGET IN TRANSFER TUG-OF-WAR

CELTIC target Antoine Semenyo is heading for a transfer tug-of-war at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old Bristol City striker was watched by top Hoops scout Craig Strachan, son of former boss Gordon, against Reading last month when he notched one of the goals in a 2-1 win for the Championship outfit.

Nottingham Forest were out of luck with a deadline-day bid for the forward in January and Belgian top-tier side Anderlecht have now enquired about the livewire raider, according to a report in Football League World.

Premier League clubs West Ham, Crystal Palace and Brighton plus promotion pacesetters Fulham are also monitoring the player’s situation at Ashton Gate.

Semenyo has claimed six goals along with seven assists in his last 14 league appearances for Nigel Pearson’s men.

The in-demand forward is under contract until June 2023 although there is a clause for the club to trigger a further 12 months
