CELTIC are keeping tabs on £4million-rated Olympiakos right-back Omar Elabdellaoui.

Brendan Rodgers has been monitoring the form and availability of the Norwegian international as he continues to strengthen his squad.

Elabdellaoui could be seen as a long-term replacement for 32-year-old Swede Mikael Lustig who is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a move home to AIK Stockholm.

The defender, who has made 34 appearances for his country, has emerged as a candidate for the position where Rodgers only has Anthony Ralston as an option.

Elabdellaoui is under contract with the Greek giants until 2021, so it will take a fee of around the £4million mark to trigger a deal.

The Hoops have also looked at Belgian full-back Timothy Castagne, who made his international debut in his nation’s 4-0 win over Scotland at Hampden last year..

However, Serie A outfit Atalanta are demanding £10 million for the player is is also wanted by Lazio. At that price, the Parkhead men are unlikely to pursue their interest.

Ellabdellaoui, 27, kicked off his career at Manchester City and also played for Ronny Deila’s former club Stromgodset in Norway.
