CELTIC TARGET PSG TITLE RECORD

0
CELTIC are zeroing in on a title milestone currently held by Paris Saint-Germain.
The French giants hold the record for European football’s most comprehensive championship triumph with a 31-point winning margin last season.
Ironically, PSG beat the previous best which was set by the Hoops in 2013/14 when they clinched the flag by 29 points.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are 19 points ahead of the Comedy Club Sevco Rangers with a game in hand going into the winter break.
With 18 matches still to play in this campaign, the Hoops are well placed to threaten PSG’s achievement.
Previous top marks in championship victories are shared between Greek side Olympiakos (2015/16) and Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb (2007/08) in third joint place. Both won their respective crowns by 28 points.
Latvia’s Skonto Riga managed a 27-point winning gap in 1997 while Denmark’s Copenhagen (2011) and Wales’ Barry Town (1998) enjoyed a 26-point margin.
Another Welsh club, The New Saints, are also in contention for the record and have won every one of their 21 league fixtures this term and are currently 21 points ahead.
