CELTIC TARGET TO JET IN TODAY

CELTIC target Alexandro Bernabei is due to jet into Glasgow today after flying out of the Argentina capital of Buenos Aires last night.

The 21-year-old left-back is on his way to the champions and should arrive in Amsterdam some time this morning following a 12-hour flight.

Bernabei will then complete the career-changing journey when he lands in Glasgow before being whisked off to Parkhead.

WELCOME…Cameron Carter-Vickers has agreed a four-year permanent deal after his loan success.

WELCOME…Swiss keeper Benji Siegrist has arrived on a free transfer after leaving Dundee United.

A medical will follow for the South American and if all goes well, the highly-rated defender will pen a five-year deal to become Ange Postecoglou’s third signing of the summer, following centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers and goalkeeper Benji Siegrist.

Bernabei has been seen on video in his homeland saying his farewells to his Lanus team-mates before his move to Parkhead with local reports placing the fee between a down payment of £2.5million and a total of £3.75million with add-ons.

Local media, according to a report in the Daily Record,  took to Twitter to say: “Alexandro Bernabei, a 21-year-old winger, will arrive in Scotland this week. Once he has passed the medical check-ups he will sign for five years with Celtic. Lanus sold 90 per cent of the economic rights and kept 10 per cent.”

COMPETITION…Greg Taylor will be under pressure to keep his first-team place.

Postecoglou has been looking for more competition to Greg Taylor in the No.3 position and Bernabei has the pedigree to push the Scotland international all the way.

The Hoops boss is obviously confident of getting the move completed and allowed 23-year-old Liam Scales, who can play on the left side of the defence or in the middle of the rearguard, to switch to Aberdeen on a season-long loan earlier this week.
