CELTIC TO BREAK CASH RECORD

CELTIC are on the verge of agreeing a Scottish record-breaking kit deal with Adidas.

The champions’ current £25million-plus contract with New Balance expires in the summer and talks have reportedly being ongoing with the German sports outfitters over a megabucks contract.

The switch will bring in the biggest cash windfall in Scottish football history and is poised to kick in next season.

Several leading brands have been fighting to replace New Balance as the Hoops’ kit supplier, but Adidas are thought to be leading the race after top-level discussions.

The sportswear giants already have Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus in their football stable.

Celtic now look set to be added to that portfolio in what would be a huge financial boost for the eight-in-a-row title winners who take on Livingston in West Lothian tonight as they zero in on their ninth successive flag.

New Balance replaced the club’s long-term kit partners Nike in 2015 after agreeing a deal in excess of £25million.
