Celtic effortlessly disposed of newly promoted Kilmarnock on their dry plastic pitch yesterday. Three goals up at halftime, the outcome was beyond doubt when Jota unleashed a spectacular effort from long range on 35 minutes, adding to the early strike from Kyogo.
If I was being picky……. We looked vastly better when Liel Abada, Giorgos Giakoumakis Aaron Mooy arrived on 66 minutes. This could be because Kilmarnock were tiring, but I think this suggestion underplays the impact the change had in allowing Callum McGregor to move forward, Giorgos to disrupt his opponents and Liel to turn defenders.
Earlier in the game possession was lost carelessly, allowing Kilmarnock to get into the final third, a scenario that stopped abruptly at the triple substitution. We are playing well and winning games, but Ange has some big selection decisions to make if he is to collect 6 points in the next two games.

thanks for sharing this clip. Great to see the goals from a different angle but what stood out most for me were the player celebrations. Demonstrated a genuine bond amongst this group who clearly love playing for each other.
Credit to Ange for instilling that camaraderie that all great teams need to have.

Mooy sat a lot deeper than McGregor had been and pretty much played it safe. I think if we had played that style from KO, we would have got frustrated with the lack of drive from midfield.
I think Ange is picking his subs and timing well.
Mooy could be a starter in CL if we are to play a bit more defensively
I would have Abada starting before Maeda but Ange seems to be managing their differing talents well

The 5 subs rule will effectively allow for a major injection into the team with minimal disruption and utilise the squad – both Maeda and Kyogo (who could have had 2 goals) played well but I found Turnbull wasteful in both shooting and slowing up play.
The ball carrying centre half is still missing for me. None of the 3 incumbents yesterday can get near a Kris Ajer level that helps us open up the bus parkers.
Mooy was neat and tidy and more shooting practice needed for Callum, DT and O’Riley who need also to up their goal ratio.
We won 5 and this is clearly nit picking but better teams are just down the pipe waiting for us and I’d like to see more quality in the squad.

The terms “man’s game” and “women’s game” are used frequently when referring to golf, cricket etc and the games are different for men and women. To take simple examples, the boundary ropes in cricket are brought in closer in cricket and holes in golf are played from different tees with different par scores on the same holes.
Men’s football is more physical than the football played by women. It is a fact of life as male players in general are physically stronger than women. Also, women athletes recognise this when they say athletes born as males have an unfair advantage when they enter women’s competitions.
I’m no defender of Graeme Sourness, but in this instance I don’t think he was suggesting that football was a game for men only or being sexist. Maybe more of it being a game for men rather than wee boys.
Ron Manager would of course have said “it is a gender neutral game so just get on with it”.
I long for the simpler days of Brassieres for goalposts down the park.
Maeda, like Hatate, are very important players in the Ange system.
Abada is a brammer but the Kyogo goal isn’t a type of goal that Liel would have provided for.

It appears that some Pundits and the SMSM, and OPPOSTION MANAGERS/OPPOSITION Players etc are only too happy to claim that ANY time Celtic score it is described as being” A POOR Goal to lose” Blah Blah, and would rather blame bad defending and/or bad goalkeeping etc, rather than actually PRAISE an excellent Celtic TEAM Goal, and/or some Brilliant INDIVIDUAL Skill by a Celtic Player, which results in a Goal ?
IF Messi ( For Example) had scored with EITHER of our TWO Overhead Kicks Goals yesterday, he would have had lavish praise etc. Likewise IF it had been any HUN Player scoring with those overhead kicks and/or the wonderful long range shooting/scoring by Jota, again their would be much praise for that HUN Player or any other opposition player scoring against Celtic.
Leaving aside my ” POSSIBLE PARANOIA” in relation to Celtic, over the years I have become Pissed Off with any Managers/Players etc describing ANY Goal scored against them ( NO Matter how wonderful the Goal may have been ?), as Poor defending, etc etc ?
What these CHUMPS FAIL to realise is that anyone can ” PICK HOLES” in ANY Goal scored by ANY Team, anywhere in the Fitba World.
Take Jotas TWO goals so far this season……..These so called ” Fitba MANGERS” would say that, THEIR Midfield and/or Defensive Players SHOULD have ” CLOSED DOWN” Jota before he shoots etc, rather than give PRAISE to Jota himself.
Likewise, Celtics FIRST Goal yesterday, it was BRILLIANT Play by young Greg Taylor, to make space for himself, and release THAT SWERVING Pass to Daizen Maeda. It was an excellent bit of Fitba, and a TEAM Goal, but all we get is so called unbiased Pundits and opposition Managers bemoaning the fact that Greg Taylor was ALLOWED to play that pass INSIDE the Full Back for Maeda to run on to.
As I said, ANYONE can ” PICK HOLES” in any Goal scored by ANYONE….NO MATTER how brilliant the Goal maybe.

The MF was poor again yesterday — balance is off and we seemed to be caught on the ball all too often.#
DT was more involved than against RC but his play was poor.
At times he seems to be playing at his M/well pace without realising that some players will up a gear against us. His shooting was particularly bad but overall he just lacked a spark / some energy.
CMcG was very poor — not in the game in the first half / hiding behind the opposition.
He just does not have the skillset to be a SPL never mind a CL defensive pivot.
Got more involved in the second half but the contrast with a half fit AM is telling.
AM goes looking for responsibility — the ex winger that is CMcG does not.
MO’R — some great play but not enough of it.
Struggles to deal with the physical side but can be cute.
Needs to get more involved.
MF needs work — better set up and tactics are a must.
We play as three individuals — not as a unit.
GT all too often has to fill in the gaps.
JNPF and GT were our two stand-outs.
MoJ and CCV dealt with KL very well.
He was at the wind up / at the madam the whole game but they handled it well.
JJ — too old for the EPL is the cry from too many.
He would be a starter for L/pool and ManU tomorrow.
What is the value of a starting RB in the EPL Top 6?

The forthcoming (mens) World Cup will be interesting. Did football really Come Home last month at Wembley or is it still 56 years of hurt ? The instructions given to the BBC/ITV commentators should be revealing. They will end up tying themselves in knots.
Fantastic performance on a horrible pitch (Kilmarnock are doomed playing on that pitch every other week), we look to be improving week on week.

Most teams ease off when they are 3-0 up the game is won and there is no midfield or anywhere else left to contest. With the home side forced to change at HT. Celtic and AP drew breath before finishing Killie off with clever use of fresh legs as is his trademark.
No failures in Ange’s squad hard day at the office for the CQN trolls.
All our midfielders lost the ball carelessly in the first half yesterday, passes missed their men and balls were not controlled. This allows killie to break on us at times. Given all our midfielders were guilty, I suspect it was very much down to the surface. No need to panic.

Paul 67 mentioned that the huns are / had a good team. I can agree, but we are / were better.We do ourselves a disservice by not mentioning this.

Yesterday was a very planned professional performance. We utilised the pitch to our own advantage and were always in control ( apart from a wee bit of inattentivness)
However we will never face such an inept goalkeeper as Sam Walker on our European journey..

The 5 subs are a massive bonus for us and they make it easier to keep a big squad happy. We need to ensure that rule is permanent. There will be many petty squablers in Scotland who will opppose it.
I thought the subs were excellent. Love seeing Giakoumakis score. Hopefully he, Abada and Mooy will get more game time soon. Mooy looks like he rarely wastes a pass.

My health isnt great, but I am far luckier than many other folk.
However, I am now looking to buy a Mobility Scooter as I cant walk far etc and I would like to go on a wee holiday soon, but only a mobility Scooter will allow me some Independence. for some time now I have to get taxis everywhere, and thats okay, but I can only go from A to B, and I cant go for a short walk etc, as it can cause severe pain. Whereas…If I had a Mobility Scooter, I can become King of the Pavements…LOL
NOT a ROAD Scooter…just a PAVEMENT Scooter.
Sadly the Scooters aint CHEAP, but it would give me some of my Independence back. I will hopefully be buying an AUTOMATIC FOLDING Mobility Scooter, where by I just PRESS a button, and it Folds out and back in again, and is only around 18KG in weight, so I can carry it from the street into my house.

Indeed Jimmy, these scooters are worth their weight in gold. My late wife was very heavily disabled but no way did she qualify for a scooter. They put a rail at the two steps coming into the house. Spent the final month of her life in bed, still nothing. So really good luck and I sincerely hope it works out for you. HH
