Celtic usual hectic international break avoided

166

For years Celtic players have had little let-up in their schedule during international breaks, so it was pleasing to see so few play a full 90 minutes over the weekend.  Four former Celtic players started for Scotland but Callum McGregor and David Turnbull were only used as substitutes.

Kyogo Furuhashi made a halftime appearance in Japan’s home defeat to Oman (Oh, man).  Nir Bitton got a valuable run out for Israel against Austria, while Liel Abada watched from the bench.  Tom Rogic got the full 90 minutes in Australia’s 3-0 win over China, which Carl Starfelt for the closing 30 minutes as Sweden beat Uzbekistan.

Those who have been in the squad since preseason should be fully fit and more in need of rest than game time.  Any reprieve in the autumn international breaks is welcome.

Yes it seems that the Indians now in the box seat.

Big question is do they take the new ball ?

    Due in 8 overs.

  2. Of course the Hun game on Saturday would have to be against a St Johnstone team who have just lost their two best players.

Somebody up there does not like us.

Normally taking the new ball is a bit of a no brainer but with the ball swinging as much as it is and your spinner doing his job, is suspect they will delay taking the new ball for a few overs.

One thing for sure though is that England have given up any chance of winning this match its now all about hanging on for England.

I’m with you on this one, leave Tony with Ange and feck the Scotland squad. Knowing our luck IF he got called up he would get injured! Better to get some rest after the torrid start to his season, let him think back and appreciate where he is now compared to last year and maybe enjoy some extra personal work and coaching without added pressure.

After years of the stuff the SFA have thrown at us we, as a club, owe them nothing. In the 70s and 80s I hardly missed a home International but the guff from Farry onwards (I know, I know about all the crud previous to that time as well) has just scunnered me, and the present incumbent Maxwell is a nobodies man, going to do the square root of hee haw to change things.

If you have a general look online you get the impression a good number of Rangers fans feel their club is being unfairly criticised, over the last few weeks. Therein lies the problem.

  9. Even allowing for more of our players ( usually) being involved in Internationals, do supporters of other Clubs mention `tiredness` as much as some of ours do?

Did the Huns mention it after their long trip to Armenia?

  10. The difference between cricket and football commentators is immense.

    The former are far superior.

  15. Hey MAJESTIC HARTSON

Thanks for asking. I did pretty well with it, average cost was around $0.08 and sold prior to the Saturday Night Live nonsense. Enough to adopt a few animals from the WWF in the name of my team at work, spa day for the good lady and dropped the rest into Cardano at around $1.00 mark.

Love the wee rocket, it’s kind of our official company logo after recent merger.
