    Not panicking after today, just glad that the euphoria of Swinecastle and Easter Rd has been dampened down.

     

    We saw this week, in the European competitions, where we stand and also where we need/ want to be.

     

    There is a huge gap to be studied( hopefully we already know the size) and then a plan to be actioned. Winning 8 in a row is great but not the end game, the treble/treble is a good start to setting out our stall for the next 5 years.

    Brendan really improved Jamesie Bhoy, he was hurtling Towards the POTY this Season as he should as he is at the absolute peak of his powers age wise – and has the most amazing talent for being nonchalantly Good. He has been very poor for a good while now (attacking wise), IMO. He needs a rocket up his bahookie or just a spell on the sidelines.

    I saw his Goal – it was Magical. I never watched the game because it wasn’t available to watch.

     

     

    If he rocked the game last week – then I’m deelighted, as I have been a massive fan since his display, away, to Udinese.

    JF divides opinion amongst Celtic supporters.

     

    Like all creative players he is inconsistent.

     

    He was one of our strongest performers in the first half of the season culminating in a multi goal performance for Scotland.

     

    Since that international break i feel his form has dipped.

     

    He did score a great solo goal against Hibs midweek by doing what i think is his best strength by coming inside on diagonal runs and shooting.

     

    When he believes he is a great asset and constant threat.

     

    To often he sits wide facing his own goalie and avoids responsibility by passing ball backwards.

     

    With the right coach he will excel but today he was poor in the first and invisible in the second with tactical change.

    Paddy Roberts gave so much more. Was able to beat a player and give a killer pass

     

     

    Forrest will beat a player with his head down and then try and beat another player and lose it

     

    In all his European games he stepped up once or twice. His game at Ibrox was a typical performance

    Fantic. Indeed he did have a purple patch at start of season. Even scored some good goals for Scotland. We all said at last, the promise of 8 years has come togother

     

     

    Sadly he has gone back since jan to the player we sadly have known

     

     

    That’s why players with a lot of talent cannot get a game consistently Eg paddy Roberts

     

     

    BR was first manger to play JF consistently only because paddy was injured

     

     

    Sadly the experiment is over. Wide players are a luxury if not consistent

    I agree that like most wingers/ creative players, he displays inconsistencies.

     

    Opposition teams invariably double up on him for a reason though, they rate him highly and are scared of his pace .

     

    We miss him when he isn’t playing. I also think that he’s a good team mate when not at his best. He often works the line supporting his full back.

     

    Did you ever notice who Brendan Rodgers often kept back at corners as a defender ?

    There’s lots going on in a game off the ball .

     

    Managers trust him. His goal tally ain’t to shabby either.

    When we are winning this place is fun, one poor day & every thing gone before is forgotten. James Forrest circa 380 appearances for the Club, aye he is not good enough.

    Ryan is a miss, not really as he has still to convince Fully – A Great engine. I hope being out he does an Ole and feeds his brain with so much Fitba info – I think he is a clever guy.

     

     

    Tom Rogic – I dinnae expect to see again this Season – Meaningful anyway, him being out so long means he takes so long to get back up to speed.

    Given the nature of our team/league etc all our players are inconsistent, my gripe with JF is that he plays the game on his heels and not his toes, doesn’t react quick enough to exploit situations.

     

     

    IMHO the strange substitutions at half time were the major contributors to the poor second half performance

    Sell him to and use money to buy Roberts who is a far superior player all round
