  1. Many fine small defenders Franco Baresi, Pat Stanton.I saw John Clark play many times what they all had in common was great passional sense and the ability to win the ball, Stephen Welsh needs to play games in the first team to have any chance of becoming a regular performer.

  2. Personally I will be glad when this season ends, since being put out off the Champions and Europe’s league’s, and with lennon mentioning some players dont want to play for the club, and quite a few wanting to leave, you could cut the atmosphere with a knife resulting in the team having a poor run of results, soon it will all come a end loanees will be sent back to there Club Ajer Christie Edourd Nitcham and others will be punted in the summer,Big Changes will need to happen at every level which will cost a pretty penny, but needs must, As a old Bhoy following Celtic for decades these games I’m watching now do nothing for me I have never seen us play as bad as this and I’ve seen some bad Celtic sides over the years, What’s galling is how easy we have gave away this historic 10 in a row league, so sad how its panned out,

John Clark was called the brush so you didn’t make it up. Also known as luggy to his team mates.

Being DOF and manager are two entirely different jobs.

On other news one of my mates won the paradise windfall, well done Martin👏👍😂

  5. The Celtic pass to Paradise failed to turn up on time for another dire game in a season of dead rubbers, we beat Aberdeen with a deflected shot that changed direction, but not of the season from hell. I agree with Neil Lennon on many things, one of them is the absence of Celtic supporters who make Parkhead the only place to be in normal times, when Celtic are in town.

John Kennedy has a voice experience and a personality after all, but only eight games left which might get him a job, probably not at Celtic, where he might return at the right time. We usually start well and Eddy’s shot should have made todays encounter with Aberdeen different from the last, but it followed the same path on a road to nowhere, collect three points if you pass go.

These points should help secure a window where supporters can see what they might be paying to hopefully get into next season Hazard ,Klimala, Henderson,Welsh, Montgomery, and megabucks for the wantaways, that Neil Lennon threw under a terminus of buses, before he finally gave up. Celtic TV coverage has its merits, WGS oozes Celtic, but in luckier times, didn’t need to coach Naka, how to take a free kick? Darren O’Dea makes continual sense, and will coach, how to go to ground and tackle for Celtic.

This side would have broken up but for Covid, and it clearly just went the one season too long, new regime can’t vary the Brendan Rodgers / Neil Lennon route certain players, aren’t Celtic anymore, and will be gone before we get back. Scott Brown playing for an extension was immaculate in a sitting role, the pity is that he’s only sitting for fun. Of the old guard on display today and outwith Kris Ajer, Calum MacGregor, David Turnbull, Ismaila Soro and afore mentioned Scott Brown, there won’t be alot left IMO.

The most welcome news that perhaps our main impediment to modernization, the vastly overpaid CEO, is ‘falling on his sword’ after ̶b̶e̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶f̶o̶u̶n̶d̶ ̶o̶u̶t̶ too long at the helm forces me to wonder shall we heed the huge lessons available to us all regarding our off field leader(s)?

19 years give or take is enough to learn anyone’s habits for better or worse, we would be fools to not make it for the better given what we are witnessing.

All of us should now be aware of what exactly manipulating the support looks and sounds like, and at the very first hint of new guy trying a repeat performance we must make it crystal clear we are savvy and won’t be lead up the garden path again by no one.

For starters, take Peters little protection scam, offering an influencer snippets in exchange for zero public criticisms.

I can see the temptation for those offered such a deal, but do they realize the long term implication? Should the snippets dry up, you just became a lot less interesting. Alas as a true fan everyone of us should turn our back on practices that are unbecoming or could harm our beloved institution, clearly there’s something underhanded about this quid pro quo. A person conducting their business above board has nothing to hide, should this deal ever get offered around by Dominic, it should be spurned with alarm bells ringing.

Next up, the little cliches that just never stand the test of time.

    Champions League Club,

    Every penny goes back in,

Sharp Suited Man (warns of an ego),

    Generation of Domination,

    The players just weren’t available,

The players wouldn’t sign until they knew,

    And more.

The minute a single cliche falls apart under any new look set up our eyebrows raise, the instant a second does we seek immediate answers for our suspicions, and with no small reason I don’t need to add.

They should cease altogether and our talking done first and foremost on the pitch. Besides, self congratulatory soundbites smack of hubris and arrogance, two traits we as a support have seen far too often in the corridors of power and perhaps the main two reasons for our current ails.

Then there’s delegating. If Dominic is wise it shall be the first if not one of the first things he does, and its probably the most important. If we see or hear of a finger in every pie, or the tools for the job just aren’t being provided to key personnel, lots of praising the appointees character or credentials rather than professional assessments, we must point out we have seen that show before, and know how it ends.

There’s many lessons but the main point is having endured and witnessed an out of control megalomaniac maneuver himself into supreme authority, each and everyone of us must adapt an ‘over my dead body’ attitude.

It’s an attitude you are more than entitled to take I must emphasize.

Watch and scrutinize the new bloke as never before, and be prepared to act upon those suspicions for removing someone with their hooks in can be nigh on impossible. He may not like it, finding himself questioned more than ever, but a high level of accountability should come with the (well renemerated no doubt) territory. Should the new look board complain about this, they could pick up the phone to those they replace and ask why trust is a dirty word on Kerrydale Street.

We see any of the old tricks of the trade attempted, it’s meetings, emails, and letters galore threatening complete financial withdrawal.

I would be extremely happy if we get a churchmouse who doesn’t utter a peep, as long as behind the scenes solid foundations are being laid. If we are going to appoint a high profile figure who will hog the limelight, then let it be a name manager who willingly accepts the 24/7/365 goldfish bowl nature of life at Celtic.

Infact I posit that a real focal point character that everyone from board to fan could rally around is probably the best thing for the club right now. There’s only so many would willingly accept that, less still could pull it off, but they are out there.

With big responsibility should come a big salary though, but if one single appointment could suddenly lift the gloom, raise the spirits, allow us all to dream again, then at this juncture in time it’s easily a price worth paying.

Our stature may have fallen in recent years, word gotten out about boardroom ineptitude and interference, but times they are a changing. Soon he who badgers will be gone, a new look professional operation should appear to deliver us a new era, it’s very important this new regime hits the ground running, not just limps onto the scene.

With that in mind, it’s easy to say we should push the boat out and sign up the very best manager we can tempt. Yes a lot easier said than done, but we do have our own cards to play in that respect.

That world famous atmosphere he had heard of,,well after being shut down due to Covid, supporters itching to get back, and perhaps excited by a new look side that has yet to be put together, upon resumption the pent up frustration and emotion may lead to those famous nights actually being kicked up a notch or two, believe it or not.

The potential is there, absence making the heart grow fonder after all.

And there’s the clear shot at silverware, something everyone wants in the cabinet come retirement age.

The exposure, the available adoration, hero status,,all those and more await.

Peter may have sullied the great name of Glasgow Celtic in his dealings, but Dominic must hold that great name up and sell it for all it’s worth when getting our new manager. He must play the cards he’s given for maximum effect, have that bloke drooling about managing one of the biggest clubs in the world, a truly iconic team with the beautiful shirt, history, and fans to match.

Kiss the Blarney stone if it helps, but pick a winner and sell him the vision and then provide the tools he needs.

Dominic does his part, I’ve no doubt the support will do theirs when the time comes again.

He brings a name, we bring the A-game.

  8. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

The posts since full time make for interesting reading.

IMHO, the first Celtic team John Kennedy picked as manager performed to realistic pre-match expectations.

Little bit of a bounce but no silver bullet.

Our game management (which I used to think was poor but now realise is non existent) will take the new manager months to introduce and embed.

The opponent, conditions, contact, referee and clock are all there to be managed.

It should be part of standard preparation of professional athletes in team sports.

An appalling failure in our set up.

One promising aspect caught my eye.

Three times today (from corners or free kicks) we lost the first header in our own box …..

    But ….

That didn’t trigger the blind panic we’ve seen in other games leading to goals.

Today the second ball was addressed quite calmly and danger cleared.

If John K and Stephen McM have done some early work on this in training then well done to both gentlemen.

Thought John spoke well on Celtic TV too.

    Hail hail

    Keep The Faith

  9. Pat Stanton in his single season for us, was outstanding, very impressive player

Here’s an explanation for WGS, as to why Celtic need change

Do we have a reliable goalkeeper for next season ? Did we recruit wisely for this important season ?

    Bain or Barkas?

Who do we have as a right back for next season ?? ( suppose Anthony Ralston is a signed player), Kenny will return to his club s club

Centre Half – Jullien out for rest of 2021 it is being claimed 9 months from Feb, he may be back by Dec ?) Chris Ajer will probably be sold, Shane Duffy will return to his club

So who do we have as Centre Halfs for next season ?

Suppose we have the rookie Stephen Welsh, the converted midfielder Nir Bitton, we could bring back Jack Hendry

Left back – Bolingoli or Taylor ? Neither fill us with confidence? Laxalt will return to his club

Midfield then – Ntcham wants away along with Christie, will McGregor stay ? Rogic wanted away last summer, will he again try to move ? Elyounousi will return to his club

    Will Scott Brown retire ?

We have Soro, Turnbull, Forrest to return, Johnston, then several youths returning from loan

    Up front

Odsonne will be sold, will we see anything from Ajeti ? Has Klimala convinced ? Will Griffiths ever get his mojo back ( I doubt this one)

So huge amount of work and player turnaround, all due to horrendous player management

Not to worry all of is good in Celtic world WGS

  10. I remember reading somewhere about a player playing against Baresi.

Said with 10 minutes to go Baresi still smelled of Aramis.

  11. Phil bhoy

Fergusons dad Derek said on Radio Scotland that his son would definitely move to Celtic if asked. I believe that Rangers had rejected him

  12. Didn’t see the game but followed it on here – difficult to follow as streams seem to be of varying delays – thankfully didn’t get a proper ffs.

Anyway just watched the Leeds game – poor

The Newcastle game needs a goal if only they had an expensive striker – lynton at £40m for 3 goals this season is obviously not expensive enough

  13. BIGBHOY -what else would you expect his dad to say.

If he had said no way,how would that look?

  14. Go tell the Spartim on

Ayala is another diminutive central defender too, it’s not about size, if you look at the other end of the pitch there are plenty of smaller guys who are killer in the air, Henrik for instance

  15. Jhb

From earlier – if some of our current players have had their heads turned by the big wages being earned by Tierney and Armstrong I would suggest they get their fingers out and prove their worth a move. The aforementioned players got the big moves because they showed they were worth it on the pitch not in interviews or through agents.

  16. so having have small a small centre back and both full backs is not the reason opposing teams pump the ball from every free kick anywhere on the pitch ,and take long throw-ins into our box, naw didn’t think so.

  17. I feel really sorry for people like Christie having to survive on what, say £10,000 per week, for doing short hours during the week then fuck all on the park on a Saturday.

My heart goes out to them.

    Bless.

  18. lets all do the huddle on

If we fill the squad full of SPFL journeymen, where do you think that will get us?

i said the other day that sevco had 1 scottish player in their starting 11. we had 6

this decade long obsession with filling our team with scottish players is utterly ridiculous

when the scottish international team has been pish for a generation

hence our recent european has been painful

but it kept PL’s trough full

which was his strategy all along

as it is for all CEOs

  19. I thought you had to have a certain number of home grown players plus a couple of youngsters in each squad?

    Has that changed?
