Gérard back to Liverpool rumours somewhat undermines the bloggers who reported that he was told he had no coaching future at L”Pool.
Personally I think Liverpool would go for a more experienced candidate and would want to see how slippy fares with an EPL club before hiring him. But what would I know? Stranger things have happened. But if I can google for five minutes and discover that his euro record is against a series of teams struggling in their own leagues I’m sure the hirers and firers in scouse land can do likewise.
I suspect Stevie G has very good PR people and excellent connections in the media. Right now my money is on him being at an EPL also ran or a lower league team with a big budget going for EPL promotion next season.
I hope he stays at ibrox personally. I don’t think he is a good manager. He is a very lucky one. A decent Celtic who learn to defend set pieces will undo him. A good celtic will dismantle him.

Robert Tressel/Go tell spartim, I mentioned this a couple of days ago, beale has said in the past he wanted to be a manager by 40, he reached that milestone last August.
His spell in Brazil is evident in the way sevco play full of aggression, cheatin and greetin.
More chance of him heading back tae Liverpool than slippy or the glorified tea boy.

Klopp is being mentioned as being in the frame for the German national team.
Replacing him at Liverpool will be as daunting a task as replacing Rogers at Celtic
Surely a good manager would be smart enough to hire the right people for his backroom staff and use them to their strengths.
I don’t see the issue with Gerrard using Beale as he does. MON supposedly didn’t do much of the work with the team but not many were saying he wasn’t a good manager.

Spot on. Was Brian Clough as successful without Peter Taylor? Even if it comes as a coaching “team” then so be it.
One of the reasons Sevco have caught us is complacency from the boardroom right down to the fans.
Every team Sevco play are “gash”. Every win is “lucky”. Slippy took over a team who were knocked out by Progres Neiderkorn and got them to two successive Euro knock-out stages.
Anyone who thinks this is all “luck” still has their heads in the sand.
If we’re to take back our rightful place as the number one team, we have to accept we have a strong rival and rise to that challenge.
I pray that our boardroom and players aren’t assuming that Sevco’s “luck” will just run out…

New Celtic assistant manager John Kennedy has revealed he was offered the chance to join Brendan Rodgers at Leicester but turned it down.
Kennedy has been involved at the club since 1999, enjoying a decade as a player before being forced to retire with a serious knee-injury.
Working as a scout and youth coach up until this week, Kennedy has remained loyal to the club and has no intentions of leaving, especially given his new role supporting new manager Neil Lennon .
“I’ve spent a large chunk of my life here in terms of being a player and working behind the scenes,” Kennedy told the Glasgow Herald .
“There’s certainly an emotional attachment there.
“To leave would be very difficult for me.
“This is another great opportunity for me to move up and progress and hopefully finish the job that’s been started.”

“He came out to training as normal and, to be fair, when he left the building, nothing was done or decided.

The gap had closed and was significantly closing towards the end of Brendan Roger’s tenure. And while BR’s Lennoxtown operations might have been top notch right up till his departure, his ‘play it out and around’ from the back tactics were being increasingly nullified by even pretty ordinary SPL opponents.
Had that dynamic continued, and BR hadn’t been able to create a PlanB, I think sevco would have run us decently close last season.

2 year ago all the Celtic sites were greetin because the fraud had taken most of the back room staff with him.
What was forgotten at the time was he had brought them tae the club so was possibly entitled tae dae that.
We sighed a relief on hearing big JFK and Damien Duff allegedly refused tae go, I say allegedly as some on here question that.
Those 2 led the club tae victories at swinecastle and Easter Road, places where the current Leicester manager had struggled.
2 year ago, possibly today, smile a while sent his agent up tae say his goodbyes tae the players and staff left over, seemingly he did not have the guts tae dae it himself. Some will still, blame big Gas Meter though.
He it seems was met at the gate tae Lennoxtown by our present acting manager, captain and at that time our most promising player who told him tae GTF.
so its not Gary Wilmot then, is it Michael Barrymore then ?

Probably true but then what if BR was properly backed – bought in McGinn instead of Shved for example.
I think the problem was, we were close to a ceiling on and off the field. Sevco were starting from the bottom. The gap was always going to get smaller – just gutted than from a 13 point lead last season, there’s such a big footballing gap in the other direction.

If he has worked under so many managers, and been part of the structure for so long I dont see why not.
he is got to be thought better off inside football circles than the “experts” online.
Agree that better procurement would certainly have helped deliver a better version of BR’s PlanA version of football. (Not sure he had a PlanB in him?)
And I do think he’d have secured the 10.
Certainly wouldn’t have seen the embarrassment that has been this season.

Reluctantly we had to part company with our manager. A good Celtic man. Peter Lawwell, another successful Celtic man had to go, it was his time.
