  1. Just a bit disappointed in Ange post match. Not too happy looking on a great day.Understand some aspects of the game did not please him,but he could have mentioned the incredible lengths the support had gone to,to make it such a wonderful occasion.

Every little helps toward the feel good factor.

  2. Just one wee thought before I’m offski this fine morning.

Well done to Ref for waiting till YNWA was finished before he started game, not every Ref would have done that,

Not happy with AP’s post match comments — surely you aren’t going native out their in Anatolia?

Finding fault with a Greek point of view?

More interested in banners than football?

Just like you are more interested in sunshine than human rights …

    Not good.

I don’t think it was done as a gesture to us. I think it was more about Sky TV coverage and the designated kick off time being 4.30.

I checked my watch as the singing was going on and the players were in position at 4.28 and I thought the game was going to start early. However he blew for ko as soon as the time turned 4.30.

I thought at the time that he was waiting for a word in his ear that sky had finished the ads and gone back live to Celtic Park.

I kind of agree and disagree with you. Ange made the comments on the team performance in direct response to that question , and most would agree with what he said . You are right though about the atmosphere , support ,tifo etc . Although he may have referred to it and I missed it .

My take – as if anybody cared – is that I really enjoyed the game. The high tempo philosophy is good and exciting to watch. When AP says they will improve, I believe him. Yeah, you can pick holes in aspects of the performance and some contributions from individuals but this is just the start. We have a manager who sees the on-field realities and will address the issues between games. I watched bits of the Livi game. You’d have to bend over backwards to say that was an equally promising performance the Southsiders.

About the singing…It’s a really divisive issue. I reckon there can be no absolute truths, only opinions. I struggle to feel comfortable with the GB. They didn’t exist/ weren’t alive when I used to take my place in the jungle in the 60’s and 70’s. Believe me, there was no lack of passion or atmosphere. A fellow poster refers to them as “plooky youths”. A bit patronising, perhaps, but I think I know what he means. Maybe they have to claim an historical perspective to justify their existence. I think it’s false, manufactured. I love the old Republican songs. I sing quite a few of them when the opportunity presents. (Personal favourite: The Croppy Boy). I just don’t like to hear the GB sing songs of that ilk because I don’t really think they properly own them. I’m not even sure I want to hear them at all at a football match. It jars a bit. Go to a seisun, sing your heart out. At the games, let’s hear more of the old, hackneyed Celtic songs. By all means, sing out “The Fields” at the top of your voice, and I’d like to hear more of the Soldiers’ Song at home games. Defy the meejah to brand it “sectarian” when it is the National Anthem of our mother country. I’m running out of steam (not before time, I can hear you all say). The League is ours again this year. Europe? We’ll see…
