After a load of puff from Leanne Crighton, Derek Ferguson chips in with “Celtic’s squad just edge it”.

Aberdeen deserve credit, but I’m starting to get fed up with this nonsense.

Time for Celtic to burst the bubble.

    Job done 😁👏👏👏

  3. Chrighton and Ferguson should not be commenting on Celtic v Aberdeen game yesterday, them 2 aren’t supporters of the 2 Clubs,BBC Hun department needs cleared out.

  4. Bada Bing – the King, the President (Sanchez) and the Valencian President have had to be removed from the area after they had a barage of objects thrown at them and shouts of assasins aimed at them. Absolute chaos due to a complete lack of understanding of the politicians as to the feelings of the people. Ruled by idiots.

🎶 Oh Hampden in the smoke 🎶

Brendan Rodgers taking Celtic to new levels, and Aberdeen the new pretenders got bruised borussias, in the process. Cast your mind back to his surprise reappointment when national Scottish journalists took a collective hump down in the ludge, and some were even banned from Parkhead because of what they wrote, thinking they’d seen the last of Celtic’s tier one, Irishman. A masterstroke by Dermot Desmond regardless of how many times it’s typed, and a testament to a ‘board ‘ prone to having had previous, in the recruitment process.

A Saturday night movie we hadn’t seen before, the Maeda touch was back, and all three Japanese stars could do no wrong, all clearly revelling in BR second regime they’ve become better players, in the Hoops. Trusty by name, is now Trusty by nature, and we will be negotiating a price for on loan Alex Valle, because the tidy Spaniard clearly ‘gets it’. Arne Engels pace for a big guy has to be seen in the flesh to be appreciated, and he turned in another impressive performance in a side with no failures. If there’s a better inverted full back in world football combining with a better wide man, then show me better than Alistair Johnston and Nicolas Kuhn?

We definitely marched with O’Neill and watching the goals over and over again we’re definitely sailing with St.Brendan

  6. The previous hurricane and tidal waves that hit Florida recently were predicted well in advance, people in the main took the necessary precautions for their own safety , how come this was not perdicted by the Spanish Met service?

Do you really believe that commenting should be restricted to only supporters of the 2 clubs?

  8. Think this got lost in the noise yesterday.

What a team! Let’s hope now that BR has got some of his preferred people in positions at the club and has been allowed to affect the structure and has been backed on transfers, he signs on for another few years to finish what he has started here.

Is this the year we over take the hun 55 lie or is that by winning next year’s title?

If Brendan stays, I think we can make our mark in Europe again these next few years.

Starting with a point or 3 on Wednesday. Very tough game in store though.

  9. Great performance last night , must have watched highlights about 6 times ! ……think third goal is the best with sixth not far behind……….oh and whisper it we actually scored from a corner !,🤪🥳😂

Morning all from a very cool Bham Alabama. Sitting watching spurs vs Villa and so glad I am a Celtic supporter. Think of how our team would play at that level with the money that’s imposters have. Someone yesterday mentioned the stats on the bbc page, 53% us, 47% Aberdeen😂😂😂👍

  11. Dessybhoy – The whole Valencian region was on a red alert for heavy rain, including where I live. That rarely is taken particularly seriously by the public as it normally means some local flooding. It is not like a hurricane warning where the experts are tracking it for days on end before landfall and can estimate exactly where it is going to hit and with what force. We get red alerts 2-3 times a year.

The sheer volume of rain that fell was unprecedented as was the speed that streets went from normal to being under 2 metres of water as the dry river beds burst their banks. The area that has suffered the most damage didn’t actually have much rain, it was destroyed by flash floods coming down into it. some places got 450 litres of water per square metre in 4-5 hours and all of that water finds its way off the surrounding hills and mountains and down to the Valencia’s coast. That is two years of rainfall in less than a day. People in shopping malls, restaurants, in their cars, in their offices etc. were unaware of what was heading their way. What was far too late was the final warning to stay at home, not to travel etc. That came at 8pm when the tsunami of rain water was already washing away cars and houses. The president of Valencia is the one who is trying to extricate himself from that colossal error and saying he is not to blame.

The rage aimed at the politicians is mostly due to the lack of a proper and speedy response to get into the disaster areas and help. Police and army are raging at the govt for not mobilising them on Wednesday and Thursday as the recovery plans were held up by regional and national govt politics. The national govt blames the regional govt for holding up the process as they did not want to hand over the management of it to central govt. The army should have been in straight away but they cannot enter without the regional govt’s permission. Until Saturday there were only 500 soldiers helping. The Army chiefs said they could have sent 10000 soldiers in.

There is plenty of blaming and finger pointing going on. Meanwhile dozens, maybe hundreds of people are still missing.

Hope that helps a little bit.

Poor souls have lost lives property but the local government wouldn’t accept help? Looking at the pictures of the streets buildings in some areas everything looks caked in mud, help the people first then replace those who have failed the people.

  13. Even those not wanting to watch the Rangers game today,I think it would be worth it to see Lennon Miller play.Heavily linked with us.Chance to watch him,and not Celtic.Captain for today ,at 18 ,!!!!.

Celtic v Leipzig is on Tuesday.

Re reophy stats, the two versions of Rangers have won a combined 55 titles to Celtic’s 54. However, the total number of major trophies is 118 each, so if we win the League Cup we silence their false claims of world supremacy.

  15. First time at Hampden for three years and I asked for two things prior – first that we field our best eleven at the start and then we deliver a swashbuckling display – happy to say I got both.

We have a strong, tight and interchangeable squad but no one now can be under any illusions as to what Brendan considers to be his strongest eleven – surely there won’t be many of us in disagreement.

Apart from the stupidity at the start with the pyros, it was almost the perfect evening. I saw the game in thirty-minute chunks. First half-hour was shadow-boxing although it was apparent that it was only a matter of time before we landed a blow. We were using the full width of pitch probing to discover where the weakness might be.

The second half-hour and after the first goal, we opened up to produce a feast of total football taking the score from 1-0 to 5-0 with some exceptional goals. Brendan changed the line up around the hour mark resting some legs and giving others some minutes

In the final thirty minutes we could have had more than the beautiful goal scored to give Maeda his hat-trick. Almost every player had a touch – it was brilliant to watch.

Brendan was wound up for this one. He was irked that we threw away a two goal lead at Celtic Park and that it was seen by many pundits to be a triumph of Thelin’s tactics. There were also comments about him sitting passively in the dugout during the ‘meltdown’. In fact it was none of this, we inexplicably switched off for twenty minutes with the game at our mercy, and as the manager said more than once, we should have won the game convincingly. Kicking the ball and slipping showed just how ‘into it’ he was last night. He was determined that the team did not again lose momentum.

Another thing that Brendan was right on the ball about was when he alluded to the fact that Aberdeen unlike Celtic had been playing one game a week and that can be an advantage. He said pre-match something along the lines of “it will be interesting to see how they cope after a tough mid-week game” This was seen as excuse-making by some in the media – it wasn’t, it was a statement of fact which was borne out as the semi progressed. We squeezed Aberdeen until there was nothing left in their tank.

I’m sure the same eleven will start on Tuesday – a word of warning however. The last time we won 6-0 after a “swashbuckling” display in Perth, we met a German team and we all know what happened. I don’t expect a repeat because we have learned after 2-2 Aberdeen and Dortmund. The Atalanta result and last night is proof positive HH

  16. WOW, whata peformance yesterday, tremendous, best I’ve seen for yonks

CLUNKS, is that the ugly ex-Sevco player that we baited in the 5 – 0 win a few years back, the day we won the league at Celtic Park v. Thems? (I was going to call him ‘ex-Hun’ but of course you can’t be one of those).
