Many Thanks for all the updates, as per usual. Really brightened up the day / night. Sounds as if we could have lost a very early goal, à la Hibs at the weekend, but then we were ruthless for the rest of the game. Need to watch that.
Some lovely memories of the 5-1 game thrown into the mix. I remember cycling from Rothesay to Rhubodoch with 2 great pals that day. Leaving Port Bannatyne we were still 1-0 down. By the time we got to the ferry we were 5-1 up listening to it on a wee cheep tinny tranny ( no sniggering) with each goal celebrated by screaming at the startled seagulls by the shore. Oh Happy Days!

Same old Sheep always bleating.
Weird first half is the theme, this time we are three to the good instead of two down. Another sluggish start, it was Aberdeen that could should have taken the lead but for a superb Schmeichel take before Daizen Maeda’s continuing goal spree was bang on, with a close range volley. Superb breaking Celtic saw Jota “ like a new signing” with his to me, to you, with Engels the Portuguese scored with a sclaff into the net after bounce two. CalMac’s range restored, his cleaner strike found the other corner to complete the half.
Nicolas Kuhn mothballed till the weekend around the sixty minute mark gave way as it was time to unleash Yang, the young K League player grabbed a dribble, a great goal, then an assist as Maeda rounded off the scoring, after Aberdeen pulled a goal back. Arne Engels had another superb game in the Hoops.
Too much of a good thing? too many home games? home draws in the cups, and the new CL format see games come thick and fast in Parkhead. If some players are sick of the sight of a ball, it won’t be Daizen Maeda.
I hope all our players appreciate BR’s tier one guidance with all his signings and debutants (Hey Jude) developing nicely, as we relentlessly close in on the chance to hit six trebles in nine years,

Good game on a freezing night on a bumpy pitch. Aberdeen were good going forward, hopeless at the back. We just wear teams down and got stronger as the game went on. A lot of good performances. Jota and Hatate started well, Engels took over as the most influential player. CCV is just an epic Celtic player and CalMac and AJ so consistent. Schlupp very good again and I thought McCowan was just brilliant when he came on. Yang looks like he’s really starting to develop as a good contributor for us. Was very good when he came on. And I liked the look of young Jude Bonnar. Very elegant in his movement and passing.

Good morning from a damp North Staffs
Strange game last night, especially the first half where a 3-0 scoreline flattered us.
Brendan said we didn’t press well, but in fact we didn’t deal with the Aberdeen press which should have given them the lead after Kasper set them up with an open goal.
A wee bit of a strange game last night as Aberdeen put up a good fight and had their ” Moments”, as Celtic struggled to get to grips with the game, but half time came and we were Three Goals up. The half time score line certainly flattered Celtic quite a bit.
The final score line of 5 – 1 was probably a bit harsh on Aberdeen.
However, we will take the Three Points and look forward to a few days before our next game v St Mirren.
Sadly, I thought REO HATATE had a very poor game…but maybe a few days rest will do him good. It looked as though the MORE he tried, the worse he got ? Not much went right for REO, but I am sure he will be back.
What can I say about DAIZEN MAEDA ? A wonderful attitude and fitness and he was on hand to grab yet another Two Goals. ARNE ENGELS also worked very hard, and he and CALMAC did well considering REO’s poor game.
As a wee BONUS…I had the Correct Score with the Bookies. Celtic to win ” 5 – 1″ at odds of 20/1with BET365.
Not too shabby.

Some interesting stats here. The late goal stopped us breaking a record of number of home league games without conceding.
On the 80th minute it was announced that the 🐑 were being kept back after the game. That led to an attempted exodus, however not all were successful before the green doors closed.

The Pitch did NOT look too great last night at Celtic Park. I watched on TV, and anytime the cameras got close to the Pitch, it looked well worn and bumpy ?
I think Brendan mentioned the POOR Pitch last week in an interview ? Last week he described the Pitch as being ” DIFFICULT” ?
Maybe the heavy Pitch is affecting wee REO for example, he never looked comfortable on it last night and the game seemed to pass him by….and he often found himself ” Bogged Down” whenever he did get possession ?
At times I thought someone had tied his Boot Laces TOGETHER ?
I’m VERY Happy with the Victory…and MAYBE Kilmarnock will give the Huns hard game tonight ?
Apart from having the Correct Score with the Bookies, I also had DAIZEN to score at least TWO Goals at odds of 13/2.
I also have the Celtic ” Correct Score” from last night, in a DOUBLE with Killie to BEAT the Huns tonight. Killie are 11/2 to beat the Huns, so it will be a VERY NICE Double….IF it comes up ?
We shall see, but I expect the Huns to get a lot of help tonight from the officials in order to give wee BAZZA and his Dream Team a LEG UP ?
We shall see.
