BRENDAN RODGERS missed out on the League Cup on his Celtic comeback season after crashing out of the tournament at the first hurdle with a 1-0 loss at Kilmarnock.
However, he made up for the disappointment by leading the Hoops to a Premiership and Scottish Cup double to mark his return with silverware success.
The Irishman, who has never been beaten in 11 games at Hampden, is now 90 minutes away from reaching next month’s Premier Sports League Cup Final when his Celtic team take on Aberdeen in what promises to be a rousing last-four enconcounter at the national stadium this evening.
